Episode number 20 is a little different to my other episodes.
Instead of interviewing one person, I have invited my two awesome business partners Howard and Andy to join me for a chat.
We are going to be sharing our experiences in setting up a new business in unfamiliar industry and during lock down. Not only the challenges faced of being a start-up but also the challenges that posed by pandemic.
We will cover how we combined our individual skill sets from the business and property world and combined it with our passion for helping others and saving our planet.
This episode is full of golden nuggets. Howard has been in business for over 30 years, Andy for over 25. You do not want to miss this episode J
About my business partners:
Howard – has spent decades in business, successfully helping and supporting people, being the go-between, saving my clients thousands of pounds by informing them of ways they can obtain better products at lower cost. That was in the Health Insurance business. I sold that business and now do the same for landlords, showing them how to benefit from Government ECO 3 Initiative, which can improve energy costs for their tenants and help to upgrade their properties, improve their carbon footprint and in almost all cases at no cost to them.
Andy - Full-time landlord, property developer, private investor, and entrepreneur of 15 years. A huge passion for helping people and helping others build long-term sustainable wealth. Andy runs an awesome FB networking group called – Blue oak Property Network and also has his fantastic Youtube channel called – 365 investor, as well as his wonderful podcast called – Win and Tonic.
Enjoy the show J

In this episode Lisa will share with us the power of property strategy called Supported living. Its not only great for property investors and landlords, but also for all those in needs you help along the way.
Lisa is a friend of mine who is a co-founder of Supported Living Gateway, great company on a fantastic mission. She is very passionate about this topic as this strategy is a combination of two things she loves doing. Worked as a nurse for HNS for 20 years and also loves property.
In this episode she shares with us, How and Why she has started in Supported living and co-founded Supported Living Gateway.
www.supportedlivinggateway.com
Who is Lisa:
Lisa worked in the NHS as a nurse in acute and community settings for over 20 years, until she decided to follow her passion for property and established Pebble Properties. A chance encounter led her to develop a property for a young man with complex needs and this led her to discover Supported Living. She loved combining her ‘nursing brain' and her 'property brain’ to create a home for life for this individual, however she encountered many challenges in developing this property. She wanted to understand why so few property investors let their properties to supported living providers and set about connecting with many property investors and developers. She also realised there was a real problem for supported living providers who were struggling to find property for supported living schemes leaving many vulnerable people housed in unsuitable and unsafe property and unable to be discharged from hospital. This led her to collaborate with others and set up Supported Living Gateway, a revolutionary way for supported living providers and property investor to connect to set up supported living schemes all over mainland UK.
Lisa lives in Devon, she has two teenage sons, dogs, chickens and other assorted pets. Lisa has been trustee of the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust for the past 7 years. She loves spending time with her family and dogs messing about on the river, sea or the moor.

Getting planning permission on a very challenging building side...
Ed Akay is another very inspiring person who kindly agreed to come on my show to share his story.
For those who don't know Ed:
A graduate of Newcastle University in Politics and Social Policy, then later BPP law School Manchester. Ed Akay entered the property world by as part of a co-operative that replaced derelict housing by building high quality flats.
Ed then began renovating houses, where he developed his project management skills and eventually started more development by obtaining planning permission on contentious sites most developers would avoid.
