Interlogue: Racial Injustice Hits Home
It's been a difficult couple of weeks. Not only was a man murdered while in police custody, but that act of racial injustice seems to be the straw that has broken the camel's back, as protests in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and against police brutality have taken shape in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Paul and Carly are very passionate about standing with the oppressed and disenfranchised, and you can tune in to this week's episode to hear them discuss that. However, there is more to discuss here. Paul and Carly are also an interracial couple, living in a small, conservative town in rural Indiana - and that is not without its own difficulties. Catch it all here and this week's episode of Hoos-band and Wefe. Chapter Three: Hiding Red Flags and Fiscal Irresponsibility with Romance and Charm
There were a lot of reasons that our intrepid couple shouldn't have been together in the beginning, and in this episode we cover the biggest three - all of which were Hoos-Band's problems: addiction issues, sexual experience, and no concept of how to handle money. Luckily, God's timing and plan are better than any human perspective, and he saw them through this precarious time in their relationship to happier days. Here the story of the things they saw that made them want to power through, as well as a few name drops of the people who helped along the way (Thanks to Jeff, Jimmy, and Karyn!) Be sure to come back next week to check out Chapter Four: The Chocolate Turnover. Chapter Two: Christmas Circumcision, Or, How Carly Taught Her Entire Family to Hate the Band "Train"
Three weeks into our relationship and we're already getting pretty serious. Admittedly, it's as puppy a love as puppy love gets, but we're into it. And then Christmas vacation hits. Hoos-band goes back to California. Wefe stays in Indiana with her family. And things get weird... tune in to hear about Hoos-band's voluntary circumcision at the age of 19 and why Wefe's entire family now hate's Train's amazing song from their album My Private Nation, "When I Look to the Sky," a song that, incidentally, to this day, is still Hoos-band's favorite song... A Romantic Easter
This was a great Easter for us. We found a way to celebrate Christ AND focus on each other, and turn our Easter into something romantic. Tune in to hear us tell the story. Other highlights include Hoos-Band becoming King of the House (complete with pool-floatie crown) and Wefe wearing adult people pants. It turns out we couldn't put a picture in our show notes, but check out our Instagram page for a picture of Hoos-Band with his full royal garb.  Instagram Twitter Facebook Pinterest Website --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/hoosbandandwefe/message
