What it's like to buy during a pandemic housing crisis
Did we both pick probably one of the worst times in history (sans pre-2008) to buy houses? Yes, yes we did. But also, we both feel so extremely lucky and privileged for it to have worked out (albeit not without some effort & stress) for the both of us.  Home buying can be confusing and is definitely emotional. Think of this episode as a crash course into our experiences. We wanted to share everything we learned throughout the process and share some things we wish we would've known beforehand.  Like health insurance, you never really learn about home buying (even in Taylor's real estate 101 class). And it seems like one of those really big adult milestones that can feel really out of reach for some of us, even when that's not necessarily the case.  Keep in mind, we're both just buyers, and our experiences are our own. But, it can be really helpful to hear and have something you can compare your experience to! So buckle up, cause we sped through this episode because there is SO much to say. Enjoy, friends!

Health Insurance 101 - What we never learned
How would you describe health insurance? A bore? Confusing? Clunky? All of the above? Yeah, that's exactly how we feel. We're never taught how health insurance works in this country and we've found that sometimes even our employers are confused about it too. And there are so many terms you have to learn, it's almost like they want it to be confusing 🙃🙃🙃 So we decided to make it fun, and deliver a deep dive for you. In this week's episode, we go into different terminology, plans and more to help you better understand your health insurance without wanting to pull your hair out. We definitely learned a few things researching for this episode and you should def know what we found out!

Talkin' Saving & Investing with Hannah from Lil' Finance Girl
Does reviewing your bank account make you want to hide under a rock or is that just us? 🙃 Well, we’re kinda SOL because avoidance doesn’t help us get richer. We have got to face the music at some point, and it really helps to have a game plan that makes it easier. And that’s exactly what we talk about with Hannah, Lil’ Finance Girl, this week on the pod. Hannah is super smart (hello, Masters in Corporate Finance) and relatable, and gave so much amazing advice in this episode, like how to make budgeting more approachable! Personal finance is one of those topics that the world just assumes we know all about once we become adults. (Or alt. theory - they didn’t want us to learn about it). Well, it definitely takes effort, but with friends like these we are a hell of a lot better off! Join us for a chat about money, priorities, mental hurdles, Dave Ramsey, and crypto currency. P.S. Nothing in this episode constitutes as financial advice and is our opinions only! You can find Hannah on IG @lilfinancegirl and sign up for the waitlist for her new class, The Money Course, here! Hannah is not a financial advisor or certified in any way. She is speaking completely from her own opinion and experience and nothing mentioned in this podcast is meant to be taken as advice. Make sure you do your own research before making any financial decisions.

It's More Than Just Pop Culture
No shame, we’re big pop cultures fans over here. It’s not our “guilty” pleasure because we don’t subscribe to that. Pop Culture is not frivolous - full stop. Especially in the melting pot of America, pop culture weaves us all into this social fabric that helps connect us. And being interested in what’s going on in the big blanket of pop phenomena is natural and sometimes essential to our connection to the people around us! So join us on the pod this week where we dive into the depths and see just how impactful and far reaching pop culture can be. And join the big debate - are sports apart of pop culture?

Ep. 17 - Women’s Issues, Labor Shortage & Population Growth in the U.S.
When we hear women’s issues, we think of issues like equal pay, reproductive rights, paid family leave and ending abuse and assault. These are all very important issues that society, not just women, need to be working to resolve. I pretty much can’t stand the term “women’s issues” because I find that too many people use that as an excuse to either write them off as feminist bs or just absolve themselves of any liability because they don’t identify as a woman. Which is absurd. Cause not only do women’s issues effect every single person, there are so many other issues that also effect women. The economy, immigration issues, and gun rights are often seen as masculine issues, but all of these directly impact women’s lives in the U.S. (I think we can all see that we need to just stop gendering societal issues since they affect every one of us). So this week we wanted to talk about the specific ways in which women are tied to today’s economy, from financial instability to pregnancy. Check it out and let us know what you think!
