26-year-old Jim Nibbe was asleep in his bed in the early morning hours of August 31, 2010. His wife, Jennifer, was in the bathroom when she heard a loud bang. She opened the door and was met by a gunman. He pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger but, the gun didn’t go off. The man then attacked her as he drug her to the living room before he fled out the door. Jennifer then ran to check on her husband, Jim. But, he was dead...from a gunshot wound to the head. They were blogging their journey and were set to reach Oregon by Halloween but when Brian returned home to Florida on September 1, 2021, without Gabby, everyone knew something was very wrong.
