Must Listen
One of my favorite and I’ve listened or looked into about every homeschool podcast available over the years. So much valuable information even if your homeschool style or approach is different.

So much freedom
As a first time homeschool mom, Carole’s approach has brought so much freedom! Homeschool feels fun, simple, and sustainable - all pressure is off for me to overperform, which gives me energy to focus on the things that really matter: character, life skills, relationships, great books, faith, etc. 10/10 recommend this podcast and Carole’s seminars!

Unsubscribing
I’ve been following the show for quite some time and enjoyed it. However, the episode on August 4 about choosing local church concerned me and I feel like I need to unfollow it.
With all respect, I disagree with the host’s view point about “choosing a church”. It appears to me that the reason we should be a part of the local church is because “it benefits our children and our family”. The host specifically said “our children is our priority. Choose a church that benefits our children and when they grow up you can go to whatever church you want…” This is a stab on my heart. Again, with all respect, I think this is idolizing our children and family. I understand this is a homeschooling podcast and our children’s spiritual growth matters. But when it comes to church life, I think we should approach it with great fear and trembling. Whereas in this episode, the host makes it sound like we should shop around according to our own tastes. I am hugely disappointed.

I’m obsessed!!!!!
As a former homeschooler and mom of littles who can’t wait to homeschool my own kids, I love Carole’s podcast SO much! I have been going through and listening to every single one and have gained so much knowledge and such an appreciation for literature just by listening. My mom followed her approach with us and all the time reading together as a family was so precious. I love the interviews of former homeschoolers and especially love the episodes on “preschool”. Thank you Carole for continuing to make these episodes!!!

Best homeschool podcast
Carole doesn’t just talk about curriculum and implementation. She talks about life, our Christian walk, other Christian figures, educational philosophies, relationships, parenting, marriage, and home education. She is funny, upbeat, real and poignant. This is a breath of fresh air with podcasts. I’ve finally met a kindred spirit in the homeschool podcast world. Thank you

Problematic
I was really excited to give this a listen. I’m a homeschooler, who was directed to this podcast by a homeschool group. The first episode I listened to was interesting and helpful, with only glimpses of the host’s and guest’s faith.
As I kept listening, it seemed that more and more of the episodes went towards not only Christianity, but evangelical Christianity that uses such problematic and old fashioned language and thinking.
Homeschooling does not equal Christianity (!!!) and I’m tired of evangelical groups trying to claim this, “crunchiness”, homesteading, etc.
You can be religious. You can not be religious. You can homeschool or not. Such a bummer this podcast can’t stick to the title and had to merge religion into the discussion.
As the secular movement grows and gets louder within this educational philosophy, I’m looking forward to finding podcasts that can separate the two and stick to the topic!

Simple and concrete advice
We are a Christian family with a four and two year-old. God has put it in my heart to keep my kids from preschool and since then we have decided to homeschool our children through their academic years. This show has been a good guide and offers concrete and simple advice and is a BLESSING.

Life changed
I discovered Carole Joy Seid recently when she was a guest on another podcast. I’ve listened to her podcast every day and it has truly changed my outlook on so much. Truly thankful and blessed to have found her teachings and excited to see how my sweet 3 babies grow from her approach to school at home!

My grandfather attended one of your seminars in the 90’s…
My grandfather, who is an avid reader and researcher, attended one of your seminars in the early 90’s and knew your approach to learning through rich literature was what our family needed. He immediately shared your resources as well as the idea of homeschooling with his 3 daughters, who had children nearing school age and who then decided to give it a try. I am one of the grandkids who benefited from that decision!
Now, as a 2nd generation homeschool mom with 4 kids, I knew none of this information until a recent phone call with him and decided to look you up, doubtful I would find you. What a pleasant surprise to see that you still actively share wisdom and experience! Thank you, thank you for your voice and life’s work which has blessed our family for generations.

Homeschool teenager
Dear Carole,
I am a thirteen year old boy who started homeschooling just this year. I’ve been to three private “Christian” schools and one classical charter school , and I must say that none of them hold a candle to your schooling theology. I’ve listened to many of your seminars such as the media one(I did it with my mom so I did not hear anything inappropriate), your food one and a couple others. I love what your doing and hope you keep sharing how to raise up kids who can think, read, and love God.
God Bless.

Love homeschooling
Huge fan!
As a homeschooling mother of 4, who is on year 12 of homeschooling, I needed encouragement. My oldest is graduating and I have one in preschool. 🫣 my two older kiddos are girls and our two little ones (prek and kinder) are boys. They are SO different and I just really needed encouragement with homeschooling my boys. Someone introduced me to Carole’s podcasts. I was so enthralled, I immediately listened to a seminar, more podcasts, bought books she recommended, etc. It was all I needed to be reminded that I can do this. And that we will do this, Lord willing, in a way that honors Him. I felt refreshed, encouraged, and like I had found my kindred spirit (no co-ops, take my guys into the church service with me, etc IYKYK) I’m just so thankful. We’ve since listened to the nutrition seminar and loved that also. I’ve been a curriculum junkie for 12 years and I feel so free being able to lay all Of that aside and just do what has always been my heart’s desire in the first place…snuggle up, read great books, teach my kids to work hard and serve well and love the Lord wholeheartedly. If we do this, we will have succeeded. Thanks Carole Joy Seid!

LOVE
I’m new to the better late than early philosophy and it’s a breath of fresh air! I’m very thankful for the way Carole articulates this method & the many tools & seminars she created to make homeschooling simply & inexpensively. I’m excited to start this new journey and see my children flourish. Her seminars are a great way to get connected with like minded people and get the colored read aloud lists that are gold! I’m always excited to share what I’m doing with others to shed light on not rushing education with children and this podcast. Thank you for all that you do!

Encouraging and Full of Information
Listening to this podcast is like a breath of fresh air. Carole Joy Seid is full of interesting information on author’s lives and how books came about. I feel like I’m in her living room having a conversation and learning so much. I’m in my 3rd year of homeschooling and I’ve been encouraged for how we’ve been doing and learning new ways of teaching.

So encouraging!
I’m a second generation homeschooler entering into my 5th year homeschooling my own children. Carole’s podcast came to me at just the right time. She really has helped me understand how simple it can be to homeschool well and still have fun. I’ve saved many episodes of this podcast for days when I need some refreshment or encouragement.

Disappointed
I greatly enjoy the ideas and valuable wisdom Carol shares through her podcast. I especially look forward to her interviews with families. With that, I was disappointed in the way that Ambleside Online was presented in episode 109. It seemed misrepresented as a program one “signs-up for” and the conversation of narration and reading were devoid of any discussion on the underlying principles of a CM education. It was also disheartening to hear what seemed to be the very specific and pointed discrediting of an all volunteer, arduously researched and developed labor of love by homeschool pioneers.

Hope for a joyful and peaceful homeschool life!
I attended my first Carole Joy Seid conference yesterday. I’ll be honest…..prior to when I signed up a month ago I had never even heard of her, even though I’ve been homeschooling for almost four years. What a joy to listen to her! She truly does make you feel like you can successfully homeschool your children without being run ragged. I just started listening to the podcasts and I can’t wait to make my way through every single one!

Timeless Wisdom from a Christian Worldview
Carole’s podcast episodes are always encouraging and worth the 20+ minutes to listen to each and every week. She will edify the mom, the dad and child through her Biblical worldview from how to select the best books for your children to how to care for yourself, your marriage and family. Carole clearly has a heart for the Lord, but she is never preachy. In her gentle and sweet words, she will convict you on issues such as media, pornography or how to eat healthy. Spend time with Carole and you will never regret the time spent.

Encouraging for a mama with young kids
I have been listening to Carole’s podcast for about a year and it has been so encouraging to me! I have a 3 month old, 2.5 year old and 5 year old. I stay home full time with these precious gifts from God. While I love my role as mother and homemaker, it can be wearisome and lonely and Carole’s show brings interviews and education that refreshes my soul each week! We haven’t formally started our homeschool journey yet, but I’m able to implement so many principles and tips I learn from her content. I highly recommend taking a listen! You’ll leave wanting to share a cup of tea with Carole and her wonderful friends!

My Favorite Podcast!
This is the homeschool podcast I’ve needed all along and I’m so grateful for the time Carole puts in to it! I send links to friends all the time, especially the episode about Raymond Moore/ Better Late than Early, as well as the Preschool episode. Carole is filled with wisdom, discernment, and always brings the most beautiful resources to us, including interviews with families who I can relate to, and who inspire me to homeschool simply. I hope to someday Carole in person. Thank you, thank you, thank you Carole for all you have done over the years to better the lives of our children and families! Blessings to you.

Encouragement and resources for parenting well.
What I love most about Carole’s podcast is Carole herself. She has been a faithful follower of Jesus for decades and I feel at ease heeding her advice for this reason. She selects excellent subjects to interview and always prioritizes topics most urgent to all of us aching to parent well, as we serve a God who does all things well. Thank you Carole.

None better for Homeschooling Parents
I found out about Carole over 25 years ago and instantly became a "fan" and a client. My children are grown and having children of their own but I still listen to her podcast regularly because it's still helpful and encouraging to me as a supportive Oma! I recommend Carole and the podcast to every young mom that crosses my path!

So much more than homeschooling
Carole is my mentor. She doesn’t know it yet, but she is. The wisdom and perspective she shares on her podcast and in her seminars is priceless. Looking into homeschool methods, I wanted a roadmap and a guide, and also something simple and flexible. I hadn’t found it, and upon hearing Carole speak, have finally found what I’ve been searching for. She is worth listening to again and again.

Christ centered homeschool
I really enjoy all the great podcasts that Carol has done. I feel like she is a friend. She is very soft spoken and always is encouraging. She has taught me about authors and illustrators. And as a mama of 7 , who love to read aloud, I can always get an encouraging word to continue to do so.
Many blessings.

A Compelling Approach to Life
My wife and I will never forget May 4, 2013—the day we first heard Carole Joy Seid articulate her compelling educational philosophy. We were hooked, and have been ever since. This podcast is a wonderful way to understand her approach to schooling, reading aloud, working, serving, and more.
