In this episode, I wanted to remind us that what is coming out of our mouths is so  important as what our children hear continuously will eventually plant seeds in their heads. One way to make sure that what they are hearing is positive and uplifting is to start the day with positive affirmations. Following is a snip-it of positive affirmations that we recite together before we start the school day. Take some time to come up wit your own list, and watch as over the years the seeds of positivity are planted and watered in your children's life. Sample Positive Affirmations as excerpted from the Ott's Daily Homeschool Affirmations: I am Happy I am Strong I am a child of God, who is love If I can do it, I can Achieve it I can do anything I put my mind to I am strong I am powerful I am fearless - this doesn't mean I don't have any fears, but when I have one I face it and break right through it I am kind  I am loving...... Feel free to use some of these, add or subtract as you feel comfortable, or just come up with a list that works for you and your family. The important thing is to get this started as a regular habit in your daily homeschooling routine, and watch how these words will take root in your children's life. I am lucky to live in a state that does not require very much in terms of record-keeping, but as I have mentioned countless times, homeschool laws vary by state, so one of the most important things that you can do as a parent is find out what the record keeping requirements are in your state.
