Real Women Living Life
I am not a podcast person but my best friend turned me on to this show and seriously, I was hooked after the first episode! Real women, raising their families, living life to the full!
Edit to add in 2026 because it’s now been 6 YEARS of listening! Still the only podcast I listen to regularly, it always leaves me feeling good and ready to get back and dig into into life as a mom of 4 again.

Going 6 Years Strong
I just listened to the Work-Life balance and as a fellow entrepreneur/homemaking/homesteading wife and mom, I wish I heard you ladies on this about 3 years ago. Not giving my husband a hard time for his clothes left out? I could never! The fact that I could possibly just have a glass of wine without finishing the weeding? No way! Shaye- I will be praying for you in your new diagnosis. God has more beauty in store- speaking from experience. So grateful for you ladies. My closest friends and husband all know you as “my Friends”. I can’t stand the thought of the day when you stop showing up and peeling back the curtains on how family, faith and business all work together. Love and thanks. I guess I’ll get to just party with you in Heaven!!!! -Bizzy

Hi Angie. Do you still have your Airbnb rental and your magazine subscription? I’d love to hear more about career/interests changes etc.

On Dreaming & Discontent
I could listen to you talk about this for a whole season! Thank you especially for the reminder that dreams do change — God does not, but we do and our circumstances do and that’s OKAY. Hands down the best podcast out there. Thank you for being real, and for being a light!

Loyal listener since 2021!
Hi Angela and Shaye, I love the show and I am excited to listen in each week. The first time I listened and heard the Toups and Co, and Dry Farms add and hear you talk about Europe I knew I had found”my people.” Anglea, you had said last episode people making comments like “you do too much”, and “Susie Homemaker.” I get those comments all the time too. Any advice on how to respond to comments like this? I am personally working on not letting what people think or say get to me, but I can feel discouraged at times. I love listening to you guys and really feel like I get to hear two friends talk who are in it with me. Thanks so much for the encouragement!
P.S. - hint hint: I think a Homemaker Chic Fan Girl event would be awesome!!

Weights and Ramen
Hi Angela and Shaye,
I love your show and have listened since the beginning. I found Shaye in the blogging days and through Shaye found Angela. To this day, Shaye’s blog post “Life From the Pregnancy Chair” is still one of my favorites. It hit just right when I too was going through a first trimester. I am a homeschooling, farming mom of 9 kids (17 years-18 months) so we have much in common. Thank you for the MANY laughs over the years.
Two questions…I am not new to working out but am relatively new to weight lifiting. Can you share the amount of weight you lift? Or where you started and where you are now?
Second question…you got me hungry for ramen after last week’s episode. I’ve never made it from scratch. Any good recipes you can share? I’m a from scratch cook but just have never ventured into ramen territory.
Thanks again!

Love it!
Love this show! Look forward to each one. Angela and Shaye are hilarious and so sweet! I wish I could meet them in person.😁

Happy we get to do this together
I’ve listened faithfully for two years, ever since my midwife told me about the show. I appreciate being invited into Angela and Shaye’s friendship and honest conversations. Are we Bored! Are we Sad!? Are we Tired of the grind? Yes and yes, sometimes! But we aren’t trying to do this good thing alone, and it is beautiful and joyful, too. Thanks for the encouragement, ladies.

A homemaking gift!
Thank you for this podcast. It has been a gift to get to listen to 2 women work out the complexities of life and seeing them grow!! Thank goodness we don’t have to stay the same. I am curious what happened to the Dry Farm Wine segment?! I am still a subscriber- amazing wine!

Cheers to You
In reference to being bored, I’m famous in my group for saying “try something on”. Take a class, write poetry, seek out a new rhythm. You don’t have to be married to it to give it a go! That’s my advice on boredom, and how I ended up literally being a farmer!
This podcast is such a gift! I am a woman who farms as my profession and you ladies are a beautiful, not so gentle reminder, to take consistent stock of my life, how I’ve changed, why I do what I do and to keep my commitment to my families health and wellness as my priority. To consistently be reminded that making our homes beautiful and a comfortable place to rest our weary bones and to laugh our way through it is paramount to my success as a woman in this world, and I need the external reminders that I am not alone in my quest. Sending you blessings from Maryland for a beautiful productive growing season! We must learn to be content with being happier than we deserve, as Jane Austen said.

My favorite corner of the internet
Been listening since 2020!
Thank you for being two very much needed homemaking and mothering “mentors” in my life. So very grateful to have found a little corner of the internet to be spurred on in faith and “my post” and at times nearly have coffee come out my nose #balance. When Angela cries about her babies growing up I am always brought to tears thinking about my own. My early years of motherhood have been full of joy but also a lot of grief and loss of people too soon and this podcast has done so much more than entertain in those hard seasons when parenting doesn’t stop for grief. My long distance best friend and I are both superfans - here’s hoping you two get to hug each other in 2026 🥂

My fave podcast!
Mama of 9 here ages 2-18. Been listening for years, truly feel we’d be friends in real life. Thanks for being my “folding laundry” and “putting my face together” buddies. I do have one question-I’m traveling to Spain (first international travel since I was 13, and I did not enjoy it then…) and I feel like a fish outta water. Any tips for traveling/customs/airplane/etc?! Feeling completely outta my league, but excited to go and SEE something with my bestie.

Orange Barrels On BeHealthy Blvd
I’ve been a fan since just about day one; this week’s episode reviewing your health journeys was like a warm hug. I’m 8 years older than Angela, but I feel like we could’ve cruised the same locker-lined school halls together in our Swatch watches and Benetton sweaters.
I too have experienced a health radicalization over my years as a wife and mother and am roughly where the two of you are now. My 88 year old dad was a doctor right up until Covid and such was my seismic shift that I went from “listen to dad- he’s a doctor”, to telling my dad he needs to eat more protein, drink whole milk, and sending him homemade plantain salve and other herbal remedies. (To which he would accuse me of voodoo, right up until the time he started asking me for refills on the voodoo).
This message about personal health advocacy needs sharing, and for you to be so forthright about the ups and downs of your health journeys and encouraging others to think and act for themselves is nothing short of breathtaking; you are galvanizing countless people to get behind the steering wheel of their own lives, and resist surrendering their instincts and autonomy. Please do more episodes like this! BIG HUGS ❤️

Weekend Binging!
I have been listening since 2020, and today I’m catching up on episodes while making Irish Cream Whoopie Pies for our annual St. Patrick’s Day party! My husband took our five kids out on a walk, the birds are singing through the windows, Jo one is yelling for “MOM!!!” And you have been delightful companions! Thank you

I like both your faces!
I started listening to you ladies back when the world decided to shut down, and I’m still here! My kids are now 9, 7, and 5, and your podcast episodes have gotten me through many hard days, reminding me that it’s okay to always have room to grow as a mom and homemaker. I’m so thankful you’re still recording episodes and sharing your wisdom, hilarious commentary on life, and practical knowledge for homemakers. Thank you Angela and Shay, and I like both your faces! P.S. I’ve never left a review because I could never figure out where to put it! I had to use chat GPT to figure out😅

I like bot your faces
I DON’T hate your face 😅
For years I have laughed with, cried for, and took counsel from you two. I’m always motivated after listening to you both. My mother and cousin (both homemakers) listen to you as well, and we often catch each other sharing stories from your conversations. This podcast remains a weekly inspiration in my home as I transition from babies to toddlers and now to ‘big kids’. Thank you lovely ladies for sharing so much of yourselves with us 💛

Long time listener
This show has truly evolved over the past few years. At times there have been more structured tips, and at other there have been more candid and personal conversations. I can appreciate both, as everything seems very timely in accordance with what Shaye and Angela are going through at that moment. I believe that, as Christians, we have a duty to speak from the heart when we hear that calling and that is exactly what they do here. I truly hope they continue this podcast and those heartfelt conversations when the spirit leads them to do so. As a side note- I love the gardening and homesteading episodes and hope to hear more of them!

Stop criticism
I don’t understand the periodic criticism of this podcast, particularly the hating on Shaye. What is up with that? These are two very different women, who are best friends. They devote 24/7 to their homes and their families. The show is called Homemaker Chic, not Dumpy Hausfrau, after all. They are looking at their lives and their routines in a way which lends elegance and style to their lives. They are NOT telling you that you have to do it their way. They are aspiring to give you inspiration to be a better YOU. I personally find them each very inspiring in their own unique way, and I love them both for being true to themselves. So, if you don’t like their styles go listen to something else. There, I said it.

Love these ladies!
I’ve been listening since day 1, and Homemaker Chic is by far my favorite podcast! Shaye and Angela are hilarious, while giving the best advice for life and homemaking. They’ve seen me through 2 babies, the loss of my dad, and all kinds of life. Thank you ladies for the laughs and encouragement. God bless!

My sister introduced me to HMC when I first became a stay at home mom. At first I was skeptical of the whole thing- staying home and podcast. Now I’m eating my words! I’ve converted to both- spreading the good news far and wide. ( I now only use brand basics and Toups&Co)
Recently I’ve found out I am allergic to all mammal products, meat, fat, milk. I can have birds and seafood. I also cannot eat gluten (although I do make fresh milled sourdough for my family). I’m also allergic to nightshades and citrus. Any thoughts of food substitutes or hope of something tasty would be warmly welcomed!

i’m so grateful my friends, sara & mariah, introduced me to your show. it’s been my go-to for a while now when i need some “girl time” during a home cleaning sesh or just when im doing the mundane dish washing. recently, i listens to an episode where Shay mentions the need to build muscle mass for the long haul and that kicked me into gear. i just did my FIRST kettlebell workout and felt firsthand just how intense those goblin squats (lol) can be—thank you, shay & angela, for helping to lift my 32 year old spirits when im needing them most. signed, a woman who’s very much growing her homemaking skills 8 years into marriage & 7 years into motherhood

The only podcast I listen to besides Dave Ramsey
I’m 37, and just had my first baby this summer. Been listening to the show since Spring 2021. Now that I’m a homemaker and a mother, this show has become even more enjoyable for me. I laugh, cry, and exclaim “thank you! I’m not the only one!” throughout each episode. I agree with almost everything…apart from some shocking opinions about The Sound of Music, and It’s A Wonderful Life. Thank you ladies for producing this show each week. With love from small town (zone 3b…ugh) Montana.

Hi! Just paid for the patreon membership! I saw that the latest update was over a year ago. Are y’all planning to show up on patreon again soon or stepping away from that space? Mom of 5 here in Forney, TX who has listened since episode 1! 🖤

Christmas with littles part 2 please!!!
I so enjoyed listening to all of your memory making. I am now listening to Charlie Brown Christmas on repeat with my little one and plan on incorporating more ideas that you ladies have put out there. I would love to hear even more thoughts like thoughts on Santa Claus and other ways that you enjoy making the holidays memorable.

No new ideas lately
I am disheartened at their anti Catholic bigotry. Sure doesn’t seem very Christian.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM
I started listening to Angela and Shay back when I was a brand new mama, living with our great aunt and trying to learn all I could while also working full time and a nonbeliever in Christ. That was back in 2021. I have listened to every episode (even the ones from before I started) and I often to listen to each one repeatedly. Not only have they made me quit my full time, decide to homestead and homeschool, and also create carts of seed orders I can never afford 😅 they also turned me into a believer and they are part of the reason I am saved and have enthusiasm for teaching my now TWO, and one on the way; babies about Jesus. I am ever grateful for them keeping me company through the chaos as well as the tedious tasks. For inspiring me and for comforting me. For feeling like extended family that always have the right things to say. I have to admit I hate when they go on their breaks (although well deserved) but I am always beyond excited when I see that little red box pop up with a new episode. Thank you for taking the time to be our mentors and to be so welcoming that you played a major hand in bringing me back to Christ. You'll always be my favorite podcast and Instagrams 💕✝️✨

Relatable but choppy due to ads
Love the focused homemaker content but so! many! ads! breaking up the narrative. More and more ads through the years. Timestamps would also be helpful.

Love it!
So relateable... the Neanderthal children, wearing out the house 😂 When my father in law started living with us, he would freak out as they came down the stairs, saying the house couldn't handle it... I had to say that it my (then) 4 and 9 year olds were going to break the house, we had bigger problems... now they are quite a few years older... lol!!!!

Wanted to love it
I wanted to love this but the hosts always seem unprepared for each episode. Often it seems they have nothing at all to say on their chosen topic. It somehow feels disrespectful as a listener for them to be so off-the-cuff and unenthusiastic.

Please keep it going! And a season theme suggestion;)
I look forward to each of your episodes, Ladies. I find myself laughing out loud and nodding in agreement. Being a homemaker is my dream job, but it surely can be a grind. Being reminding of all the nitty gritty moments that EVERY homemaker experiences makes me feel like part of a club instead of feeling sorry for myself. I loved hearing (Shaye, I think) describe how she decided to redecorate her living room, how she executed it and then how it made her family feel! Moments like that on the show remind me that what I do matters. It can positively affect my whole family, and those are the ones I love most!! I could go on and on, but I’ll just finish by saying I’m thankful I found you ladies, wish we could hang out in real life and hope you keep it up!
P.S. would love to hear what kinds of skills you both have honed as homemakers and how you have done that. How have you decided what to hire out and how have you decided what to DIY? For instance, have you ever hung wallpaper? If so, an episode on how you learned, what method you used and how it went would be amazing (for example) Think about a DIY season. Thanks!!!

I look forward to Mondays!!
I LOVE this podcast. It fills my heart and makes me so excited to make my home cozy and place my family wants to be! Angela and Shaye are just so fun and relatable. Their convos get me through my Monday dusting and vacuuming 🥰

<3There’s just no podcast that compares <3
My 5 young kids all know Shaye and Angela by name. In our full days of starting a family farm business and rv living while building our house I don’t have time to listen to much else but, as a long time listener, ALWAYS have time for Homemaker Chic. I have stood in the kitchen crying while Shaye tells me “you can change!!!” and every year when we return to Door County where we’ve vacationed since I was 7 I’m hoping to run into Angela on the beach, (just there last week and left saying to my husband “*sigh* another year where I DIDN’T run into Angela and get to tell her I’d rather meet her than Nigella or the Princess of Wales.”)
This podcast, ladies, had inspired me more than I could ever, ever say. In my faith, my gardening, me homemaking, motherhood, countless areas. If I never see you this side o’ the grave I will someday tell you how much you’ve meant to me and my family!

A Godsend to all Women
I can’t say enough good things about this podcast. I laugh, cry, and cherish my life as a woman, wife, mother, and homemaker along with Angela and Shay. This podcast was introduced to me when I was a young mother and it has helped shape my philosophy of motherhood. I have learned to be a better Christian, woman, wife, mother, and keeper of my home because of these women. I love this podcast. Thank you, Angela and Shay!

Not as good as it used to be
I loved this podcast once upon a time. It seems they are just recycling through old material and don’t have anything new to talk about. Shay dominates the conversation and interrupts constantly. I may be shelving this podcast. Sad because it used to be my favorite and I recommended it to all my friends.

Become a big advertisement
I’ve loved HC for many years, but I feel like lately it has become one big advertisement. Makes it cringy and hard to listen to any of their content when they are continually pulling in talking about dry farm wines, American blossom linen and toupes and co. Feels unauthentic at this point :(

Always look forward to new episode
I understand the negative reviews of this show and I also always look forward to a new episode. But they rarely get them out on Mondays when they say they’re going to! No other podcast I listen to has this issue. And I bet they don’t even read these reviews

Refreshing
Candid about their own struggles as homemakers, funny and heartfelt in building women up to love their families and their homes. This podcast is a gem for Christian women who need a good laugh & to be reminded of the value of wives, mothers & homemakers!

What’s up with the inappropriate laughing all the time?
Once again, Shaye’s off the rails, hyena-like laugh at everything everyone says (including herself ), distractsfrom being able to listen to Angela and Darla who are trying to have an adult conversation. Shaye’s lack of self restraint comes off as rude and disrespectful. If it’s nerves, she really needs to find a solution. Otherwise don’t have guests on the show because she just about ruins it every time.

They irritate me but at least they are digestible
I like listening to these women. I personally find the recent trend of “tradwife” lifestyle to be alienating, nauseating, and bitter. I’m not talking about wanting to be a good mother and wife, I’m talking about the women in this movement that use Christianity in the most fanatical way possible, taking normal gender roles to the absolute extreme and coming off as total nut jobs. What happened to this country that made everyone so insane? Why can’t we just be moderate common sense people? The reason I like listening to Shaye and Angela is because I feel like at least they try to bring value to women without being off putting. Yes they discuss their faith, but I have no problem with that as long as it doesn’t come off as trying to put others down. I like that Shaye says she’d rather bring people together than cause separation. I like Angela’s spunky attitude and practical life advice. I like the banter between them. Relatively speaking, these two are more normal than some of the other homemaking content out there. Yes they irritate me sometimes but at least they come off as semi normal people who are trying to be good humans and add value in the content they provide. I hope they keep going with the show, I find it to be a fun listen and enjoy learning from their collective experience.

Definitely NOT CHIC!
This podcast is a disaster in many ways, but the title in and of itself is extremely deceptive. These women seem to suffer from extreme cases of self idolatry and in turn they are extremely off-putting. The way they’re trying to sell luxury at the same time whining about how impoverished they once were/are seems rather insincere to what I assume are their target audience. Didn’t take long for me to unfollow. This is a hard pass for me. We have enough phonies in the world trying desperately to make money off of what is “trendy”. Did I mention… NOT CHIC!

Worth Every Minute
Angela & Shaye are trailblazers in all things femininity, homemaking, & healthy living! They bring the joy back to womanhood that has been lost in our culture. Their podcast has helped me prepare for my vocation as a wife and mother. I owe them and their families many prayers of blessing! Thank you.

These Women Are My People
I feel a little outdated being only 32, but I’ve been listening since I was about 29 and unmarried. Now I’m married and a FTM with my 1 year old and I love listening to them even more. They’re tips, tricks, quotes, inspirational rants (and they’re negative rants 😂), helpful things for families and parents is my life blood. I saved Shaye’s Christmas gift idea (something they want, something they need, etc.), and saved Charlotte Mason to possibly get into as our family grows and gets older. They are so relatable and REAL. They’re like my women’s group on the go. Love, love, love them. 🤍 Wish they had a Substack or something where they could discuss all their conspiracy theories and other “inappropriate” content.
