6. Mindset Tips that Keep Me Motivated as a Busy Mom in Business.mp3
Here are 3 Mindset tips that keep me motivated: Understand that there is no pain, no gain! YOU WILL FALL and GET HURT in the process. 2.  Find your crowd --- attend events, masterminds, meet with other people who are wanting or already doing what you want in life. 3.  Focus on what brings you joy, and Hire the right people in the right places -- keep you accountable for the rest. This is something that I am continuing to work on, and I feel Is the biggest challenge for me today! If you enjoy a task, you are less likely to need the motivation...it will come naturally. I work to keep track and evaluate where I am spending most of my time, and slowly try to decrease the amount of time I am spending in my non-joyous box, and increase the amount of time I am spending doing the things that I actually enjoy doing. I have found that if I focus on joy, I am more likely to COMMIT to it in the long haul and get the results I want. I am more likely to get through all the challenges, without quitting, because, at the end of the day, it is the joy in the journey and outcome that I crave. It is easier to get up and stay motivated when you are limiting your focus on the things you hate and start focusing on the things, and outcomes you enjoy. So with that being said, it takes practice and time to stay motivated. I am still working on it also! There will always be days that you “don’t feel like it” -- But,  to be quite frank, you will only be COMMITTED to the things you actually want in life. Not what you think, you want, or what someone else wants you to want.  So, get really honest with yourself and start small...start journaling a list of the things you enjoy doing or the outcomes you enjoy, and keep a record of those that you don’t. Just a simple list would work. When you’re ready, you can begin handing off those things that just simply don’t serve you, whether it’s negative people in your life that suck the energy out of you, or its a task that is so tedious and daunting you want to crawl into a fetal position -  let it go. When you let go of those things and tasks you can allocate that time to other things. It will get easier to do as you build that habit over time. I am constantly trying to work on this one specifically and some things can be harder to let go of than others! So aside from these mindset tricks, a couple of other things I am working on are self-discipline, my health/sleeping habits, and nutrition. I tell ya what, by the time this episode airs, I will be expecting a new baby girl in just 8 short weeks!!  These late-night bathroom breaks or Cinnabon-loving pregnancy cravings are hitting hard,  and it has been a little more or a challenge for me to focus on bettering these habits at this moment!  as I am just trying to enjoy this last bit of pregnancy and squeeze as much up-front work in as possible so I can take time to rest enjoy her and the family once she arrives. So just allowing myself this wee bit of grace during this time, is also a conscious choice I’ve made to help me stay focused on what matters most -- and That my friends, is My Homefront. Wishing you all the best for you and yours during these holidays, thanks so much again for tuning in! We will chat again soon! 4. Story Part 2 - A Journey from College to Entrepreneurship .mp3
I dive into life after college and what corporate life looked like for me as I began my journey into motherhood. I worked several jobs and found out what I enjoyed by trial and error. I discuss how I tried and failed and tried again along my journey and what lessons I’ve learned as I have gotten to where I am today. I share my thoughts on failure and quitting. I go over my struggle as a Mom in the workforce and how focusing on myself and what I wanted for my family and my homefront made me realize corporate life wasn’t for me. I go over how I got into real estate and share where I am at today in my business. Hopefully, you can see that I am just that ordinary gal that takes the hits and chances, like many other entrepreneurs out there. It’s not all seamless and pretty like Insta or other socials. In order to get to where I am at today, I have put myself through the wringer of opportunities to see what I enjoy, and what I like. I’ve shared my passion with friends and family only to get nods of “ here we go again” vibes, and I’ve had Countless conversations with hubby, therapists, and business coaches about my options and thoughts and fears and realigning what we want for our life and our family. Because that’s what matters most. 2. Homefront Podcast Story Part 1 - Where It All Began
In this episode, I take it back to where my entrepreneurial journey began before I even realized it. I  introduce my childhood as being just the typical gal, raised with a big blended family and I go over my experiences in my first job and my first side true hustle that gave me a taste of entrepreneurship and freedom. I share a little on my journey through college when I studied marketing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas straight out of high school. Then we dive into how I met my first mentor, and how we grew his small hole-in-the-wall restaurant to being a distributor of products on the Las Vegas Strip.  I didn’t know it at the time, but my experiences in working alongside my mentor helped shape who I am today. We had to get out of our comfort zones and take action to keep his business afloat and we had no idea what we were doing. The game of entrepreneurship wasn’t about the money, it was exciting and fun! Looking back it's easy to see that entrepreneurship takes a lot of grit, and determination -- and almost a sense of confidence. Not the confidence that you know exactly what you’re doing.  Instead, the confidence in knowing that even though you don’t have a clue what you’re doing quite yet, YOU DO have the confidence and willpower to FIGURE IT OUT. That’s it… You just have to have confidence in yourself to know YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT, whatever that actually is. Just say yes, and figure it out as you go! I wanted you guys to hear a little bit about my background so you can see where my journey began with entrepreneurship and that it was not defined or planned out, it just sort of happened. I didn’t start my own business right then and there --- there’s definitely more to the story.  I hope you enjoyed this part of the story, but, for now, I’ve got some children and hubby to attend to, but, I’ll get you all caught up with the second part of the story if you plan to tune in next week!  :) Connect with Toree: Instagram @homefrontpodcast https://www.toreemcqueen.com If you have enjoyed today's episode: Share with friends Leave a review on Apple Podcasts  Subscribe to catch the next episode About the Host: Meet Toree McQueen, a realtor, entrepreneur, serial just do-er, podcaster, mother to 4, and a bold dreamer always on a mission.  Tune in weekly to hear about how to run a business and a home life, how to scale and grow, and parents who are leading the way in entrepreneurship!
