Great historical content
Update:
Thank You for 3 years of entertainment!
Sending love and support.
I’ll miss the “cold opens’ and I got use to the sober episodes.

Mr Will Sterling’s humor might not be for everyone.I’ve been following him since the Ross Mathews days and always want more.

Obsessed!
I found this podcast through a commercial and I’ve been binge listening ever since! I love you guys. I’m a massive history nerd and I think it’s amazing the way you present history. I want to enjoy a martini and talk history with you 😂 don’t stop!

Third rate joke.
For guys who tell third rate jokes, you would know. Didn’t hear your comment, but my skin is rather thick. And no…as of when you first mentioned my comment…yoi did not have it…you were close…but no cigar! My nicknames for folks are more clever than you think. As my name for him conveys who he is, and what his minions are…terrorists.

New favorite!
What a delightful way to learn more about history - fantastic listening and learn something every episode. Appreciate the spread of topics covered.

5 stars! Craig and Will have hysterical conversations and Craig shares fun-fact tidbits along the way, noting historical events and / or people that inspired or caused something that still impacts or exists in our world today. The Kennedy episodes were what first got me hooked early this summer. (Joseph Kennedy was, in fact, the worst - and I have read Mr. S now, Will!) Their banter is fun, and Craig's kind and compassionate (yet sometimes biting and snarky) handling of Will's commentary is adorable and you can tell they are good friends. Thank you for making the PHAP-usy / PAPE-usy episodes per my nerdy request. I am a high school
art history teacher and I learn many teaching tools from Craig when he responds to Will's skepticism / cynicism when religion is discussed - something I often have to manage with my own students. (How did a dove get into the building???!)

Listener Lacey!
I will give one more
The first 20 minutes of this podcast is chewing the fat (off topic chit chat). The rest is like trying to take a history class with teachers with ADD. They go off topic every 60 seconds. It may be for some, but I find it so distracting. I’ll try one more episode but man was this first one hard to get through.

Great podcast
I love the relationship between the hosts. Craig brings the knowledge but Will brings the charisma. Fun podcast! Enjoy

Entertaining and informative
Great to hear from my former Professor at SDSU. Enjoyed and respected him as my professor (and debate coach) and now enjoy this podcast.

I look forward to martini time
This perfect duo makes me long to find them posted at the bar at a happy hour in Palm Springs.
Craig holding court regaling stories of history past peppered with giggles, winks, and bits of tea he would never share on an open mic. They come more frequently as he finishes his second martini. Skipping from his lips like tiny mischievous elves and setting him up for a punch line like no other, carrying us merrily along like the Kenny G of podcasts.
Will, with his full voice and deep laughs, eggs Craig on and ensures the cocktails are top-notch. Hiding his vast knowledge until he puts forth a randy quip under his breath, raucous impersonation, or drops a joyous F-bomb. He is edging each of us like the Peter North of podcasts.
Alas, until that day, I get to spend a joyous hour or so with them weekly through this podcast. I only wish I could wait till the end of the day on Friday to enjoy a martini with them while listening.

I have fallen in love with this podcast
Craig’s story telling is enchanting
Will’s snarky comments sprinkled in just is the perfect recipe for making a history podcast fun

Louise Rainer
Love you guys-look forward to your podcast every week since the beginning. I loved the good Earth - saw it as a PeaceCore Volunteer first at a theater in my village in Korea in 1967. Used the locust scenes in my science class for years so remember Louise Rainer winning the Academy Award: Best Actress for “The Good Earth” [1937]. She lived two weeks shy of her 105th birthday.

New Favourite Podcast
I love the way you tell the story of history, it's just the way my brain needs it to remember and the fun asides help. It's also lovely to be able to hear two different opinions being debated properly. I'm almost caught up and don't know what I'll do when I run out!

Love this podcast
If you ever wanted to learn the real history of America and how other pieces of history fit into the make up of the US then this is the podcast. Ever wonder how we as a country got to where we are now, you need to listen. I love Craig and William’s relationship and banter on the show. Craig is also an amazing piece of history in himself with first hand knowledge about our presidents.

A stellar dive into history
I absolutely love the format of this show. A quick dip into history to highlight the parts that matter and the parts you might not have known. Craig and Will provide the perfect balance for each other and act as docents to an audience that might know a little or a lot about each week’s topic, but definitely will learn a new perspective.
Thank you for a great show!!

New listener loves the show
I started at episode 1 a few days ago and have been binging as time allows. What a great diversion from today’s politics but yet so relevant for the times we live in. Interesting, informative and hysterical all at the same time. A great escape!
you've made me laugh
Smart, hilarious history podcast
Will and Craig have such great chemistry! Craig spins such a terrific yarn and Will’s nudges and wisecracks are a great counterpoint. If history classes were more like this podcast, maybe we would be living in a smarter timeline.

Clean? Not even close
This is ranked ‘clean’!?!?
Needs an ‘explicit’ warning. Lots of f-bombs and other cuss words.
The first third if the episode is off topic babbling about alcohol.
Subject matter somewhat interesting but other history podcasts are better

I love a good history podcast and these two have great chemistry. Love the singing

Sweet James, I love this pod!
The history, the one-liners, the giggles- nearly everything in this pod is on point! I look forward to every new ep and frequently share and quote episodes to friends.
My only note is that we need more women! Alice Roosevelt and Abigail Adams, Susan B Anthony and Shirley Chisholm, Margaret Sanger and Dolores Huerta.
More women please! Otherwise, love the pod and can’t wait for more.

Smooth, Informative
As an immigrant in the US, this podcast presents usually-unapproachable historical facts (and guesses? Fact checkers to the rescue) that relate to today’s matters - or are just fun to learn. Both hosts are equally charismatic 😎 Plus, I am learning about drinks, so that’s a plus.
Great quick listen - totally recommend! Can’t wait to read all of Craig’s books!!

Interesting!!
I LOVE these podcasts!
,Will and Craig have terrific chemistry, obviously really like each other and the content is phenominal. I am a history buff, and yet I always learn new things from Craig's stories. I especially enjoy his personal stories, what a rich life and career!
Keep it up guys.

Brilliantly funny and smart
These guys are so interesting, conversational and funny! What a great podcast educationally and humorously touching on important, relevant and profound subjects. Give them a late night tv show on Comedy Central

Grab a martini (gin - obviously) and enjoy!
Truly one of the most informative and enjoyable podcasts in my feed. I only wish I could actually enjoy a martini while listening but my commute is the only time I find to really dedicate to listening.
Maybe 5 star reviewers could be randomly selected for a happy hour virtual visit?

Love this show!
The hosts are a perfect combination of funny and informative. If only history was like this in high school and college; might not have hated it as much.

Best history podcast
It’s not like I’m biased or anything but I love the two hosts - especially when they quibble. The stories are what I wish I had learned in school about American history.

Oh the buttery tones of Sterling
It’s like Drunk History without the drunks and it’s only audio. So, I guess it’s not then. Anyways; it’s hilarious and really smart! I’m hooked

Looking forward to more!
I love the dynamic between the hosts! It’s cool to hear stories about history, told in a new way. And I appreciate Will asking lots of questions because I too “am dumb” and don’t remember a lot of what I learned in history class 😂

I'm Only Leaving a Review Because Craig Did
Craig left a review for our podcast before it premiered so I'm doing it too. But lemme tell you, it's top notch and we curse and drink and talk about history. You're in and you know it!

History Rated R
Don’t listen to this pod cast without a martini in hand. Don’t listen to this if you believe US presidents didn’t have extra marital sex. Don’t listen to this if you have no interest in history.
