Great history podcast
Great history podcast that focuses on the subject of pirates, starting from their beginning. The host, Craig Buddy, is a fine narrator who enjoys his subject, along with putting on plenty of information (the methods of pirate punishment are pretty disturbing). The only bad part is that it doesn’t continue further. For anyone interested in pirates, a great listen.

Glad you’re back Captain!
I’ve really enjoyed this podcast! I’m a retired US Navy Chief and I find this podcast to be entertaining, factual and a joy to listen to. I hope to become one of the crew soon! Keep up the good work!

Still Scurvy Free ! Welcome back
Learn cool things like "cat got your tongue?" And why you don't want to let it out of the bag? I am very entertained and now full of new knowledge. Like what's a blood eagle? Can hardly wait for some new episodes. Love it.

Interesting but lacks some technical quality
Content is interesting and entertaining, but the audio quality is lacking and a little distracting.

Aye aye captain.
Aye aye captain. I give my one voice to you. Great job. Very well done. I love the spirit of the podcast. I love the music and the soundbites that accompany each show. Just overall a very solid very well thought out project. Thank you very much. Truly appreciate it.

Creating more myths than debunking
While I’m excited to learn about the ancient pirates, episode one opened with spreading myths of the origins of phrases. Minimal research shows that these idioms did not originate from the circumstances put forth. A much better researched and presented podcast is the Pirate History Podcast

Breath of fresh air
LindaLou reporting for duty on the crew, Cap’n! My husband and I both enjoy this podcaster's skills at storytelling and detailed research. Love this show!!

Wanting More...
This is a pretty good podcast, informative and fun, and Craig Buddy is fun to listen to, kinda like a young, semi-nerdy history teacher in high school. However, a few of the episodes seem to have uploaded incorrectly as they're only a second long, and this podcast stopped updating in November 2016... Would love to hear this show continue... maybe the hosting got too cost prohibitive?

Good...constructive criticism
I do enjoy your podcast however it almost puts me asleep because you are reading from a script and it shows. You need to relax and give us the information like you're just talking to a friend. If you listen to the podcast "stuff you should know" that will give you a good idea. If you have a friend that can do it with you and just discuss the facts with him jumping in with non scripted comments that would help. Otherwise I do like your podcast.

Yar! Here be Pirate stories
Craig Buddy gives a thorough and fun podcast. He is well researched, prepared, and communicates well. While I'm biased towards Pirate stories, he always brings on the fun in Pirate fashion. He does a good job pronouncing tough names not inherent to his culture of origin while building difficult to describe stories and highlighting where the research is not the clearest. I want to join the Brethren of this Coast!

Interesting topic, mediocre delivery
I find there are two types of amateur production. The first is where the host has no script and talks too much rambling in any direction they want. The second is more like this podcast, the host has a script and appears to rigidly stick to it. This makes a stiff, unnatural delivery, causes jokes to fall flat and technical details to sounds even more boring and is just overall a very bland experience. There are some topics that can hold your attention despite any lack of talent or quality in production. I think Pirates is one of them

Quite enjoyable
I've really enjoyed learning about pirates. It's a subject I have never taken any intertest in before. I'm always on the look out for new episodes.

Excellent Podcast!
Craig keeps it short and to the point with his History of Pirates podcast. Works well for me as I make my way into work in the morning. Give this podcast a listen!

Keep going
Please oh please Captain Buddy!!! Keep the episodes coming. I cannot get enough of this podcast!!!!

A great way to start your voyage
I'm writing some mythical pirates and this has been a great way to give my narrative more realistic details. It's obviously not completely comprehensive, but it does give a great jumping off point.

Walk the plank and take the plunge
I've always been a fan of pirates and their lore so was very interested in checking out History of Pirates. What a treat! This is a fantastic podcast that is equal parts informative and entertaining. I have learned new stuff about pirates and their history starting basically from the begining of sea faring people. Craig is great and fun as the host and captain of this pirate ship, and I'm surely enjoying the ride so far!

Badly Researched--Not Real History
Disappointing. I listened to the first few episodes. They are historically inaccurate and poorly researched. Facts, dates, terms—seemingly everything--was based on myths and legends, rather than on historical fact. I got distinct the impression that the podcaster was doing his “research” by surfing fantasy pirate websites, rather than by using actual historical sources. If you care about the history of pirates and piracy, don’t bother with this “farbcast”.

A must for any pirate enthusiast!
Thank you for all the work and research you put into every episode. I spent the past day or so listening to all the episodes. I love pirates, but am surprised to learn that I really don't know all that much! Thank you for all the information and fun facts. I have always wondered if Vikings were technically pirates, so I'm really enjoying that segment, and can't wait for more!

Great Informative Series
Really gets into the full history of pirates. Not just the Hollywood Johnny Depp cliche but the real historical people who lived the life.

Dripping with the Awesome
This is my most looked-forward-to podcast, and I listen to a lot of podcasts! More! Or if you keep up this tempo, at least never stop. Craig has no competition.

Great Podcast!
Craig Buddy does a wonderful job with this podcast. The use of sound effects and the emphatic humor that it creates definitely assists with making this podcast unique. I love the subject matter. As a student of history piracy goes almost completely untouched, at the best a casual mention, throughout world history. As you will find out in this podcast piracy has been both the downfall and success of many nations, and is pivotal in military history. Again great job and keep up the good work!

To few and far In between
Ok cast. Just to few an way to far in between. Also way to short for what it is. The host is very monotone. And you can tell he is just reading a script. Worth a listen but don't expect new casts often. What a let down

Tasty Pirate’s Booty!
I’m really enjoying this podcast because Craig includes lots of the minute historical details that I most crave. Glad I discovered this treasure!

Fascinating
Great content, I'm learning a lot! I'm looking forward to more shows. I hope you cover female pirates like Anne Bonny, Mary Reed, and Ching Shih soon.

A fun ride
I am having a swashbucklingly great time listening to this podcast! It is fun, not too serious, but also well researched. Craig does a great job every time!

Really fun and informative
I just binged listened to all the available episodes after a tip from the Maritime History podcast. I've been having a great time listening. I'm looking forward to hearing more! FYI, I'm planning a trip to Charleston and Savannah in search of pirates and rebels next spring. This podcast has really gotten me excited about what I may find when I arrive. Content in this podcast is presently a very long way off from that period in time but, it's quite fun all the same. Don't rush a thing. I hope CB sinks his teeth in deep and takes his time like, Jamie over at the BHP.

Fantastic show
Keep the wind in them sails! I was hoping an honorable mention of William Adams could be thrown in somewhere. So much was happening around the 1600's. The book, The Dutch discoveries of Japan has a ton of info. Rock on Captain, happy to swab the deck if need be...Adrian:)
