This format provides an opportunity to not only hear the content of the book but also learn about the author. Looking forward to more episodes.

I tried to avoid listening to this podcast. It sounded so drearily educational that I could not find it attractive. I was sooo wrong. This is a fascinating podcast, made more so by excellent interviews of people who are clearly expert and enthusiastic about their subjects. I have bought several books after listening to their authors. I do not think Dean knows how to do a bad job. I hope he never figures out how to do so.

Dean does a great job. He's prepared and entices his guests to be interesting, which they always are, even if you weren't interested in the topic going in. One of the bes subscription choices you can make.

I love listening to this weekly podcast as host Dean Karyanis does an excellent job interviewing authors on so many different topics. Each week I start listening to the podcast with no preconceived notions of what to expect just knowing that probably 99% of the time I'll end up wanting to purchase the book. I have purchase a couple of books because of this podcast, namely the Ty Cobb book, A terrible Beauty and the latest one regarding the Russian spy Jack Barsky in America in the 70s and 80s. Both were excellent reads as well as excellent podcast listens. Dean does a great job with his smart questions and really brings the book to life for us as he gets the author to open up about their experiences writing the book.

I've become a big fan of the History Author Show. I've been binge-listening to episodes. Great interviews, great perspective on historical events. Quality history podcasts are tough to find, but this one should be at the top of your list. Subscribe already! You'll gain at least 2-3 IQ points just by doing that!

I absolutely love this podcast. Topics I know and love as well as new (new to me) topics that have opened my eyes to new avenues to explore. The only problem is that it's making my reading list grow even longer - burt then that's not really a problem is it?

What an amazing podcast! The interviewer (Dean) is entertaining and knowledgable, and he is able to engage with interesting guests/authors who specialize in all kinds of different topics and historical periods. I also like the recurrent mini-episode series "Classical Wisdom" in addition to the longer episodes.

First I was a listener, then a fan, now an author. If historical fiction is your love, this is the place to be. Dean's variety of authors and eras provides something for everyone, and the quality and depth of understanding in the interviews is wonderful!

Dean is a very good interviewer. Topics are widely varied and guests have always been interesting. The podcast has caused disruption to my reading plans because I regularly discover new works which I have to track down.

Sensitive and revealing interview work brought out so many great details about this Pearl Harbor survivor and Navigator number 6 (navigators.org). My first exposure to your podcast. Wonderful work. My wife's aunt was an early Navigaor too so I could confirm some of the details and flavor of this man's true story.

This is one of the best shows I have ever listened to on a regular basis, and I am completely hooked. Dear Karayanis really have some interesting bods on to interview on their books, and I love listening to the shows as they come out.

I listened to my first couple podcasts from History Author Show this week and they were terrific. From the interesting subject matter (as the name suggests, interviews with authors of history-related books) to the production quality, everything was first class. Host Dean Karayanis comes across as very knowledgeable and thoroughly prepared for his interviews. His questions are thoughtful and lead to interesting discussion with the guests. Plus, he gets added points in my book for passing references to hockey, superheroes, and The Simpsons. The addition of subject-appropriate sound (e.g., playing a 1908 recording of 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' to close out an interview on a book about Jackie Robinson) is a huge plus. It really imparts a touch of class to an already entertaining broadcast.

This podcast is worth listening to just based on the list of interesting books that are talked about, but the icing on the cake is that the production values are excellent, including the music. Not only informative, but also enjoyable.

This is a terrific show. An avid history reader, I still find Dean to be a nearly limitless source of new and interesting books/authors that I don't find in other history resources. His interviews are terrific (full disclosure - he was the first person to interview me for my book, and was so good that he put this very nervous author at ease). Dean's podcast is my go-to entertainment everywhere I go. The varying kinds of podcasts mean I can listen to them in the line at a bank or on a drive in the country.

I had always enjoyed studying history in school. It had always easily been my favorite subject, but when I left school and went out into the real world, I found myself drifting away from the subjects that had interested me as a student. That’s why I was grateful to have stumbled on this podcast. The interviews and segments rekindled that love I had for learning and inspired me to reengage in learning about history and all the fascinating figures from history.

I did an episode of this podcast and, in the lead-up, listened for a few episodes. I'm glad I did - Dean is a great host and the discussion was fun and enlightening. Highly recommended!

I’m always on the look out for new podcasts. I am a lover of history and this show is both entertaining and informative. Great topics, guests and can’t wait to see where and who they talk to next. I would recommend this show to anyone. Maybe a show Benjamin Franklin?

I have listened to several of the podcasts and am finding the most interesting aspect of this show is the various viewpoints of the authors: where they come from, how and why they decided to write their books and where it has taken them. This is a great podcast for those that like to write or read historical fiction and non-fiction. Great show.
