High Performance Computing Cluster 'Legion' Launch Event - Video
UCL
On 11th May 2009, the Research Computing Sub-Commitee hosted an event to mark the launch of service, in December 2008, on UCL's new High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster, Legion. The event attracted colleagues from across the UCL research community, who were joined by prominent members of the UK HPC community, and representatives from partner organisations including Dell and ClusterVision. UCL's President and Provost, Professor Malcolm Grant opened the meeting, welcoming all to UCL and noting UCL's significant investment in High Performance Computing under successive rounds of SRIF funding. Professor G David Price, Vice-Provost for Research, followed with a brief address explaining the importance of High Performance Computing to support UCL's research strategy. Three presentations (provided as pdf's, below), highlighting a few of the many projects that have benefitted from use of the Legion service concluded the meeting, which was followed by a poster session and drinks reception.
