This week the Herstorians are talking Prison Breaks, and no, not the show with the hottie boom body. BUT, there was a cutie involved. Tune in to hear the twisting tale of how Frank Morris and brothers, John and Clarence Anglin, "escaped" from Alcatraz, the inescapable prison! (Cutie gets an honorable mention, he really did try his best!) We've always heard the saying that if you want something bad enough, you'll do anything to get it, and MAN did these guys really want freedom. Frank is basically a genius and masterminded the plan, but it wouldn't have "worked" without John and Clarence. (I know, what's with the quotation marks? ... you'll see.)
Your Herstorians, April and Madison, also wanted to bring attention to a tragic crime against the city of Nanking that happened during WWII. Every survivor deserves respect and validation, and we hope we provided that. If you are up to it, please seek out information about it yourself. Be warned, the images online are very graphic, and quite honestly, horrifying. The only way to prevent that overt brutality from happening again is to acknowledge that it happened, educate ourselves, and do better.
Join us next week for tales of the Bermuda Triangle!

*sings* Zach Morris is traaaaash!
But we don't care about Zach Morris tonight. Tonight, Screech gets all of the attention. Tune in this week to hear about the late Dustin Diamond, child star turned porn star. WUT! You read that right. He dedicated 13 years of his life to Screech, and seemed to be a little lost when it was over. Porn is just the tip of the iceberg.
Madison gives us the rest of the dirty deets about Dustin's devastating decline! Try saying that five times fast.
Tune in Sunday (fo real this time) if you what to learn what it takes to escape from prison: AKA prison breaks!

Two (very high) women enter their basement to discuss the supernatural. What could go wrong?
This week Madison tells the story of the Loudun possessions that took place during 1600's France. Within the course of 5 years an entire convent of nuns were possessed by demons. WHAT? We know, crazy. Hundreds of exorcisms were performed on the women, but those demons weren't going without a fight. The nuns became wild - yelling, contorting their bodies, laughing hysterically for hours on end. Ya know, the uhze.
Hit play for the rest of the dirty deets, you don't wanna miss it.
Next week Madison will illuminate us about 90s sitcoms, totally rad! New episodes will now be out every Sunday!

The Herstorians have gone so deep they might end up sleeping with the fishes...
On this week's episode, the Herstorians jump head first into the Italian Mafia. April introduces us to Sam "Salvatore" Mooney Giancana, a man that was not known for his soft and cuddly side or his ability to assassinate a dictator. Madison went all out and chose the boss of all bosses and all the other bosses, as well.
Tune in Thursday, June 9th to hear about Disney Theme Parks - Anything Goes!

Welcome to High Herstory, this week tune in to hear about LAAAAAADIES OF THE MIDDLE AAAAAGESSSSSS! Seriously, these women were kick ass and we only had time for snippets of their lives. We know, we're sad about it too.
A queen of two countries, evader of kidnapping, victim of imprisonment, Eleanor of Aquitaine left her mark in England and France. She was a smart and innovative, always trying to stay ahead of the rest.
Matilda was a headstrong, independent woman from the womb to the tomb. She didn't want any man to tell her what to do, especially not her hunchback husband. She amassed a fortune so incredible that it was fought over for centuries after her death.
You don't wanna miss this one!
Sorry that you had to wait so long, shit happens.

The Name's Herstory... High Herstory.
Embark with the Herstorians as they dive deep into the backgrounds of some of America's lesser known, but highly achieving spies! April got a little confused while doing her research, but that doesn't stop her from telling the epic story of the life of Mary Bowser - a slave during the Civil War, or at least that's what the Confederates thought. *smirk* Madison discusses the life of James Armistead - a man who fought behind enemy lines for American freedom and then had to fight Congress for his own.

........anybody there?
The Herstorians are learning ya about ghost towns this week. Madison waxes poetically about Bannack, MT - a town for miners with big golden dreams. It was the first town in Montana, and much like the people of the 1800s, it didn't last long. In its 80 years of life, Bannack had some wild times. Now it's a state park and is preserved to be a true example of life in the west.
April rambles about the town of Centralia, PA. Very aptly named, it's located in mid-Pennsylvania and is known for anthracite coal. Founded in 1842, this land is a hot piece of real estate! Abandoned in 1982 for the very same reason, except for the 5 people that still call it home (even though they don't have a zipcode anymore).
Next week the Herstorians will hit you with stories about Spies (ANYTHING GOES). They're hoping for some juicy goss to share.

Whoops! High Herstory was postponed last week for the sake of April and Madison's sanity. This week they're back to discuss Ancient Egyptian culture! April put the spotlight on a small fraction of the AE's gods and worship practices. Let's just say that they took it seriously.
The AE's knew what was up WAY before it was cool. Women in their society had more rights than some women around the world today, a point that cannot be forgotten.
Join the Herstorians next week when they talk about ghost towns!

Join the Herstorians while they highlight two heartthrobs whose posters lived on every tweenager's bedroom walls. Madison talks about Johnny Depp and his whirlwind, somewhat tumultuous romance with Winona Ryder. If nothing else it was very clear that they had very strong feelings for each other. If anyone has more information regarding the end of their relationship, feel free to satisfy the Herstorian's curiousity and send that their way!
April takes you along for the ride with Lance Bass and his (almost) journey into space. That journey ended pretty abruptly, much to Lance's disappointment. Lancey Pants has plans to fulfill his dreams, and is determined that he will go to space. He has a pretty impressive resume: a world famous boybander, super vocal LGBTQAI+ advocate, autobiography debuting on the New York Times' Bestseller list, and a certified cosmonaut. Beauty and brains!
Next week April and Madison will learn ya about Ancient Egyptian culture! Even they don't know what to expect.
