She lost her dad at seven and that set her on a path of feeling unworthy of protection and totally alone. These emotions led to risky decisions and heartbreaking realities. Tanecia was a rape victim at 15, had a miscarriage at 16, was in an abusive relationship with a man nine years her senior at 17, and at 18 became a mom. Today she stands powerful in who she is and knows that God is using her passions to love people, something we are all called to do. Her Stori is back with incredible stories from amazing women for Season 2! In Season 1 we discussed vulnerable topics, and in Season 2 you'll here the guests touch on some tough topics as well. The main goal for Season 2 was to pass the mic to Black Women. If you live in the U.S. (and maybe even outside of it), you've got to be conscious of the rising awareness towards racial inequality and injustices. I say awareness because the inequality and injustices have always been there, but some people are just waking up to the realization that inequality and injustice still exist. As Malcom X said, "The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman." We have to be better in listening to other people's stories and experiences so we can learn and grow to make our communities better and our country live up to her ideals. In this last episode of Season 1 of Her Stori, you'll hear my interview with the incredible Christina Kimbrough. She opens up about her struggle with anxiety, depression, her stay in a mental hospital, and suicidal ideation. She also shares with us that she is an alcoholic who is continuing to  overcome substance abuse and at the time of recording was over 120 days sober! She relates to us on her struggle with self confidence and feeling like she's behind in life (don't we all). We also talk about the tragic death of George Floyd (recent at the time of recording) and how it is our job as white women to educate ourselves on the issue of race and to eradicate racism.
