Four Treasures God Has Entrusted to Women
Entrusted with Treasure
2 Timothy 1:14
14 Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.
Nurturing-
• We can grow a baby, ignore the pain, love, and nurture. We can ignore a lack of sleep and exhaustion to take care of kids.
• It doesn’t stop there we nurture our friendships, spouses, and aging parents.
• Nurturers are nesters-creating homes that are safe havens for our families.
• Nurturing instincts will cause you to forget about all of your own pain to take care of the pain in those we love.
• Men aren't naturally nurturing, they can learn but we are nurtures by nature, and that is a gift that is entrusted to us by God
Guard our nurturing gifts
• Not allowing people who aren’t meant to have it to take advantage of it-taking away focus from those who need it! Don’t cast your pearls before swine.
• Don’t be weary in well-doing.
• Outside influences- live in a society that tells women they don’t need nurture. Stay at home mom/
Communication
• A woman can invoke emotion, thoughts, and feelings with words.
• Communication is a deep need for a woman, we need to talk about our feelings and discuss the things we are struggling with.
• The men in the room can feel something and have no idea what to say about it, us women can explain it all without ever having to put too much thought into it.
• But with this treasure come great responsibility. It’s important that we use this tool we have to bless and lift others up. We can use our words and rip people apart or we can use to heal and bless. We have to use our words to lift others up.
• This is an area the devil will turn our greatest asset into our greatest weakness.
Guard your communication
• Ephesians 4:29 says "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. A Proverbs 31 builds others up!
• Raise your personal standard and don’t listen to bad communication, gossip, or slander.
• Ask yourself, does this bring value to the situation
God has entrusted us with this gift, let’s show God He can trust us with it.
Emotion
• Emotions are given to all us by God to use for our survival but women have a stronger expression of and connection to emotion
• Women crave an emotional connection with our partners, friends, and family
• Men-remember the emotion you felt with your first kiss, the day your baby was born, seeing your bride walk down the aisle. Or maybe it is killing your first dear. That is the intensity of emotion that women feel on most days. We feel strongly!
• Women sometimes get a bad rap for the intense emotions we feel and even express but it is our lifeblood. That emotion drives us to be courageous, to connect powerfully, and seek the connection. And ladies here’s a tip for ya, your man needs that emotional connection too he just doesn’t know how to ask for it. That is a gift that is entrusted to us-we have to use it wisely
Guard your Emotion
• Don’t give place to the devil-when you feel a strong emotion, don’t let it make decisions for you
• 2 Corinthians 10:5 Cast down imaginations, bring into captivity every thought that exhausts itself above the knowledge of God and bringing in captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Our emotions cause us to have thought that is not of God and we have to take them captive.
Write it-helps you capture the thought in a rational way.
