In our new episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom catch up, starting with Tom announcing the official opening of his Reiki practice. Both talk about the fears that have arisen around being public with one's spirituality and one's spiritual gifts, and how both past life trauma and current life experiences can affect this. Neither of them lets the fear take over though as they then discuss ways in which they moved beyond this fear to share their gifts in service with the world. Next, they discuss how skepticism has both helped and hindered them in the past. Tom mentions how his skepticism of some New Age ideas led him to the teachers and practices that gave him only experiential results and benefits in his life and perspective. On the flip side, he does note that if he allows the doubt to take over, it can hinder his faith at times. Carly mentions that skepticism can be lifted to the higher where it becomes discernment which is highly useful and healthy on all our paths. In our new episode of Heart Fire, Carly jumps right into things by talking about how much she is loving her new living situation and the high energy the nature around her is providing. Carly mentions how she at first held some expectations about her new situation based on prior history, and yet the experience of this new place made her again realize that our expectations are false and we can let go of history to allow the good and new in. They then get into some negative little personal habits they’ve become aware of, and Tom notes that as we lift higher and learn more, we inevitably bump up against our old shells, shells which may have at one point helped keep us safe but now only restricts our movement. A discussion starts about what fertilizes them, Tom mentioning having time alone for meditation and getting the right amount of sleep, and Carly discussing journaling, getting out in nature, and drinking enough water. They discuss moving into flow energy and how it changes all you experience for the better. Tom discusses being sick last week and how that can be a sign that you need to slow down and think about how you are in everyday life: are you busying yourself like crazy, worrying too much about the future, feel like you need to get everything done right now? Along with that, they talk about how it feels to have grown up with the fear that the other shoe is always about to drop, and how we can move into knowing, faith, and surrender to be in receipt, not fear. This is a brand new spiritual podcast hosted by Carly and Tom called Heart Fire. In this pod, we draw oracle cards and discuss what their meaning is, how it relates to that point in our life, discuss our spiritual journeys, and what teachings we can take away from them for the future. In this second episode of Heart Fire, Carly and Tom begin by giving a recap of their hectic lives over the last two weeks. Carly, in the process of moving, notes how seamless it has been as she surrenders more and more to The Divine. She mentions having a few moments of freaking out because she wasn’t freaking out and everything was going too smoothly, and how even moments of slipping back into old patterns can be highly useful. Next, Tom discusses his “productive” two-week trip to Italy with his family. This becomes a deep discussion on how to avoid stepping back into old and hard dynamics with family, how to see our family members outside of our ideas and histories of who they are and what they have been like, and creating the space to forgive them and ourselves for any pain we may have caused each other. Carly pulls a card first this time and gets a rare and interesting one, which sparks a new discussion. Tom gets a hopeful card and one that encourages him toward a goal he had of starting a more official Reiki practice.
