This Episode:
Empathy for others is a normal part of our daily lives and work. But how do we build empathy for ourselves? In this episode, we dive deep into the whys and ways to acknowledge our own feelings and have empathy for ourselves, mindfulness through confrontation, and fully appreciate the gift of life.
Key Takeaways:
Shining a light on parts of ourselves that we have hidden in the dark and realizing value in our lives outside of our careers.
Embracing learning through fun-filled experiences and rejecting that life lessons are derived solely from unpleasant and painful experiences.
Relearning what resilience means and how recognizing the severity of what we are going through leads to true resilience.

Petra’s Bio
Petra is a second-year MBA at WP Carey.  During her time in the program, she’s been involved in the MBA Association working specifically with DEI initiatives and community outreach.  She is driven by her passion for making a lasting positive impact and providing value for people both personally and professionally.
Most recently, she spent the summer as a Product Strategy intern in the travel space, acting as an internal consultant for a new product. Before business school, she worked in the tourism industry planning concert tours for music ensembles, taking her to 11 different countries.
A musician herself, she sings in the Phoenix Symphony Chorus and plays piano for fun when she can.  She loves making puzzles and playing [winning] games, preferably while at a brewery or coffee shop. Saving the best for last, she recently got engaged this past fall to her amazing fiancée, Marissa, and she is so stoked to be a dog mom post-graduation this May.
Kathryn’s Bio
Kathryn Cornelius is an intuitive coach, IT & strategy management consultant, design thinking evangelist, DE&I advocate, internationally exhibiting artist, published writer, former college professor, trauma-informed yoga & meditation teacher, and Founder of Whole Human Alchemy - an integrative teaching and coaching practice serving individuals to create their highest expression of how they work and live.
Kathryn has 22 years of experience in catalyzing transformation at the individual and organizational levels. She has also experienced multiple personal and professional rebirths that have helped her viscerally learn the life/death/rebirth cycle and apply it to her work in the world.
She is a joyful survivor of childhood abuse, sexual assault, complex PTSD, chronic pain, multiple accidents, and hospitalizations. Kathryn has alchemized these life experiences into compassion, intuition, embodied wisdom, and a diverse toolkit of practical approaches to solving client challenges.
As a champion for inner work and collective responsibility, Kathryn believes that everyone has a critical role to shift the leadership paradigm toward the health and healing of humanity and the planet. Kathryn is a dog mom to her pup Kali, loves to eat cereal in the bathtub, had her video art in a German Museum next to a Magritte, and is currently learning to surf.
