Today I speak with Cheryl Maloney who is an educator, former President of Nova Scotia Native Women, daughter of well remembered Chief Reginald Maloney, with years of grassroots advocacy for human rights, indigenous rights, and environmental protections. We speak on the history of the Mi'kmaq peoples, the history of governmental and capitalist oppression, and the hopeful future as it pertains to indigenous and environmental rights. We talk specifically on the current issues regarding Fisheries in Nova Scotia, how the situation continues to this day, and how we can make a difference over issues like this across the country and globally.
