I’ve listened to this podcast through and through several times since I first heard it when it came out. I listen to it when I’m in doubt about pursuing art, and it brings me back to feeling motivated, every single time. This podcast makes me feel like life as an artist is actually tangible, which is something that has never even crossed my mind before. August you are truly inspiring and real, and I hope you continue with this podcast or write a book about your experiences!

Any artist who is contemplating quitting their day job to do art full time needs to listen to this podcast. I’ve listened to so many podcasts on this subject and none of them really tell you about the little details except this one! I just started listening and I’m already caught up. Bryan is honest, articulate and to the point with a quirky personality. The perfect podcast to listen to in the car as I’m driving to my day job to contemplate quitting!

I like how short, sweet, and to the point these are! Can't wait for more!

I’ve been following Bryan for a bit on Instagram and admiring her artwork, so when I realized she had a podcast I had to check it out. I love that she encourages her listeners send in their questions and then expands on the subject matter through her insightful answers. The interviews are very interesting and fun as well! Loving this podcast.

It’s so nice to listen to artists on the air but I really appreciate the straightforward approach of this podcast. I know some people love listening to 2-3 hour podcasts but not me! I have short breaks throughout my day and this podcast is a wonderful way to use that time and not feel like I keep interrupting whatever I’m listening too. I really appreciate Bryan’s way of navigating questions and being so honest about the struggle of being an artist. I love the new interviews that she’s doing too!

I listened to the first 6 episodes in one sitting. You know it's good when you wish there was a lot more content! Bryan's simple and honest way of approaching each topic and question is extremely refreshing and helpful. It feels like I'm listening to a friend who understands what I used to consider a very personal and unique struggle as an artist. I truly feel like I can be a better artist for having listened to this.

Bryan offers perfect, bite-size pieces of practical advice in answer to real artists’ questions. All backed up by her experience. I can’t wait to keep listening.

A lot of people give pie in the sky advice that isn’t actionable or doesn’t take into account that this stuff is actually hard to do. Bryan’s advice acknowledges the challenges, but says how to deal with then too!

Wow so helpful! I’m a photographer trying to make my art my business so this is exactly what I need to hear- actionable items and real talk about money. So glad I found this!

I love this podcast already and there’s only 2 episodes! I really related to the impostor syndrome. I notice that when someone says they like something I’ve made, I proceed to point out all the things that are wrong with it. Almost as if I’ve managed to fool them into liking it and I need to show them why it’s not really good. Honesty is the best policy! Haha. I know I shouldn’t do that and I am getting better at just saying “thank you.” I’m glad you chose this question to address.

I’ve never been that into podcasts and I never write reviews, but WOW, “Hatchling” has changed both of those. I just recently found Bryan’s work on Instagram and then saw this podcast and decided to give it a go. I’m so excited to have finally found one that resonates with me and that is carefully and passionately put together. Bryan offers solid advice and counsel that feels obtainable. She is so...REAL! To me, she is the epitome of a successful artist, yet she doesn’t put herself above the rest of us. In the two episodes I have watched, I’ve felt inspired and motivated to take action towards fulfilling my dreams and goals as an artist. Thanks Bryan, keep making more - I NEED MORE!!! :)

This show is actually surprisingly interesting even for someone like me who’s not an artist. The advice about building an audience and making money is relevant to a lot of fields. Recommended if you’re starting a business or you’re just curious about how artists live/work.

Listening to Bryan answer the questions submitted to her by aspiring artists was a treat. She is earnest, passionate, and encouraging. Her comment about not letting lost time hold you back was something I personally need to be reminding myself of, and I have a feeling that all budding creatives will find similar moments that speak to them.

Every once in a while you can find something that feels like you found it first and you want to share it with everyone (like a good band that no one listens to). This is one of those podcast. Bryan is an amazing artist. In just one episode she has given really good creative advise that I can’t wait to apply to my creative endeavors.
