This spotlight features Shambrekía Wise, author of Sightseeing with Sandy and Last Stop, Dupont Circle. There are many different paths to becoming an author and bringing a book to life. Some of the greatest authors conceived their novels while going through trials in life. J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter through a turbulent time in her life including death and divorce.  Likewise, Shambrekía was able to author two books after battling through major life events. This is a story of how persevering through struggle and consequences can be channeled into something great.

This spotlight features Deborah Davis owner of the Textures of the Soul, a leather craftsmanship company. The life of an entrepreneur is an emotional roller coaster constantly taking its toll on your mental health. There are always extreme highs and lows and Deborah’s story is no different. As a serial entrepreneur, Deborah was faced with this exact thing but was able to transform this bout into an outlet that would turn out to be her greatest business venture of all.
