I love this podcast as two people casually talking about movies. My only real dock is that on many subjects they take things in the lense of the thoughts of today so they come off a bit negative on many movies especially the live action movies. Many these movies are a reflection of the times or an exaggeration of what the people of the times thought. So many over the top things were to point them out. I love their excitement and look forward to their podcast whenever it comes out. I look forwards to where it goes

It’s so frustrating not knowing when a new podcast will post. They left for almost a year and then randomly came back and on their second podcast after coming ack, they made a joke about if the listeners really thought they would be back. It’s now week 4 after coming back and there is no new podcast and they are not letting us know if it is coming late or anything at all. I feel like they do not value their fans and this show is a chore for them to do.

Had to take away 1 star for not understanding inflation comes from the government printing money to pay for increased spending and for trying to cancel Frontierland 😂

This is a fun podcast if you are a Disney fan and want to hear former DCP people gush about their favorite movies. Katie and Meg are so fun and their dynamic becomes more fluid as episodes progress. As a Disney fan, I like the fun facts. Disney has an interesting history that isn’t talked about nearly enough. However, the podcast lacks the critical thinking and research that would truly make it great. The hosts sometimes understand the history and fun facts, but some times follow it by saying “I don’t know what this means.” This was especially prevalent with the Good Neighbor film episodes. Additionally, all remotely negative comments rarely get past the initial “I just don’t like it” or “I don’t like how this made me feel.” The conversation ends once something negative comes up. And instead of asking “why” they brush it off “because it’s Disney and Disney is great.” These films are a great way to discuss larger matters of representation, storytelling, labor, and the film and media industry as a whole. With the proper research and guests who bring that “I don’t like this” perspective, the podcast could bring a more holistic experience.

I really enjoy this podcast! My only qualm is that the hosts don’t release their podcasts consistently AND they don’t provide the Facebook group with updates on when a new podcast will be released. Honestly, the podcast seems like a chore for them. I understand that things come up & the podcast isn’t a main priority, but we are going on a month of no new content & no information from the hosts on when their listeners can expect something.

This podcast is really fun especially because they’re both so passionate and sweet!! I’m glad they’re sharing their thoughts on the parks and I can’t wait for more!

I love listening to these ladies talk about Disney and their experiences. It is fun to listen to them talk about all the movies and have a blast while doing it. I love being able to listen along and watch along as they dive deep into some true Disney Magic. Keep moving forward! ♥️✨

I wanted to like this but they are just so negative about everything. They aren’t very knowledgeable and know more about Harry Potter than Disney. They didn’t even know that Mary Poppins didn’t win Best Picture. That might not seem super important, but when doing a podcast I believe you should do your research before hand and know at least a little bit about the films. I would say just stick to the Potter stuff because clearly there is a more fascination with that then Disney. They are also easily offended by almost anything. Sometimes these characters/stories need characters with negative characteristics of the plot would go no where, i.e. Mr Banks from Mary Poppins etc. Overall, wanted to enjoy this podcast, but I had to stop because they just didn’t seem to care about Disney and the love that is in these films and instead decided to complain and talk about Harry Potter instead.

Earlier this year I discovered this podcast and loved the old episodes. I was disappointed to learn they went on a break awhile ago. I recently learned that Katie and Megan are back in 2020 to continue podcasting about Disney movies. I love that they include some history of the films. Welcome back, Katie and Megan!!

I was looking for a Disney podcast that I could listen to at work that gave me the feeling I have when I’m watching a movie or in the parks. This does just that!!! Also, when I started listening I noticed that the voices were familiar. It was Katie and Megan from swish and flick!!! I accidentally stumbled upon two of my favorite podcasters without meaning too! Let’s just say I’m a fan 😬 and this podcast is worth listening to 🤪

I randomly picked the Pillyanna episode to listen to and I these hosts were sharing random facts from the movie...in no specific order or relevance. I decided to look on IMDB while I had it on and they were literally reading the facts from IMDB (in the exact order). This show has potential...but it was pretty boring.

I love this podcast! Being a Disney lover and a self-proclaimed animated movie critic, this show is perfect for me. Lowkey wanna be a part of this.

This podcast has SO much potential. But the host just aren’t knowledgeable enough. They certainly try and they seem like delightful people. But for a film podcast they lack the overall knowledge about both Disney and film in general. Too much personal opinion not enough criticism or history/facts.

I've been listening to Katie and Megan on Swish & Flick for over a year and finally just started listening to Grown Up Kids while I was taking a trip down to Disneyworld...I wish I started sooner! They have such good chemistry with all their guests and I love listening to them go in chronological order with all Walt's movies (even the ones they don't like so much, the sass is real and I LOVE it.) Keep it up, ladies!

You gotta love Megan and Katie! Who else would spend this much time watching every Disney film delivering fun facts, cool take away and just general joy. Loving podmas! This podcast only gets better with age. Can’t wait till they get to my favorite movies. In addition, these ladies host a Harry Potter podcast that’s also THE BOMB, sooo there is Hogwarts sorting! Whoot whoot! It adds a fun element to the podcast. So if you love Disney and the Potterverse this is a great podcast for you.

I’d want to hear more about the history behind the movies discussed, not the hosts’ favorite character color palettes. A podcast about Disney shouldn’t be calling for audience members to send them information and history about the subjects they’re supposed to be discussing.

Love the podcast! I love hearing about the history of Disney and the history and facts behind each movie. I wish the hosts would realize that this is a DISNEY podcast; not Harry Potter. I don’t like, or really know much about Harry Potter, so it’s super annoying to me when the hosts discuss for sometimes 10-15 minutes which house every character will go in. Some of the podcasts have been too long. A little editing can go a long way! It also seems like one of the hosts is never really prepared, complains about the movies, and says she falls asleep during them. It doesn’t really keep me excited about Disney! Love the Disney memories and profiles, and although I complained a bit, I do look forward to this every week! UPDATE 11/18 I switched my 3 star rating to a 1 Star since they went pack to that stupid sorting. You just lost a listener!

I found this podcast a couple of months ago and look forward to it every week! The hosts, Megan and Katie are around my age so we relate on a lot of Disney nostalgia. They do a fabulous job of discussing each film and the dynamic and set up of the whole podcast is wonderful!

Grownup Kids has given me life! I ❤️ the perspective given on the various films. I thought I was a Disney expert and had seen all of the films but there are tons of Disney shorts and films that I have not seen, knew nothing about and some I forgot about. I also appreciate the “fun facts”. I am learning so much about Walt, his writers, actors and animators. Keep it up ladies!

I love Disney and I love Disney movies and I read these mixed reviews and thought i would try it. I felt the podcast was all over the place but the biggest drawback was that i really don’t care what Hogwarts House the characters would end up in

I absolutely love your podcast. I’ve passed it along to all of my friends, seeing as we are all Disney obsessed and not even the least bit ashamed. You guys make me smile and laugh and I am always looking forward to seeing your new episodes of the podcast pop up on my phone. My favorite disney memory doesn’t start in the parks or at the movie theatre like others have. Mine starts at home. When I was a baby, I hated going to sleep and I hated waking up. I was truly a problem child. My parents found the perfect way to wake me up. One day I was grumpily refusing to wake up in my bedroom, so my parents put our VHS tape of the Lion King on the tv in the living room and turned the volume up full blast. Now, when I was younger I was obsessed with the Lion King, so when I heard those opening few chords, I sprang out of bed and came running from my room chanting “King! King!” My parents woke me up like this every day and were at a loss if they didn’t have that handy VHS tape on hand. The Lion King holds a very special place in my heart and I can recite every word. The Lion King was both my first Disney Movie and Broadway show. I will always proudly be the little Gryffindor Lion that I am.

Found this show because we’re planning a trip to Disney world and I can’t wait, so I needed something to get me through to next March! This show has inspired me to go back and try to purchase and watch the entire Disney collection and maybe review them on my YouTube channel. It’s also really cool that these ladies are around the same age as me, and also worked at Disney! I’m so jealous! But the little tid bits about the parks and the facts/information they provide about the movies is amazing too! Love it all :)

I totally but respectfully disagree with the negative comments about this podcast. These ladies do a great job and are always doing their best to be respectful to everyone! I’ve learned a lot about Disney films I have never seen before and it’s a fun listen!

The basis for this podcast is great, adult conversation about Disney film. BUT it’s produced by Disney, and it’s a little too clean. A little too politically correct. However, it’s packed full of Disney trivia and great information.

While I love the personality in this show and it makes my soul so happy, I was a little disappointed with the DCP podcast. I am a Fall 2017 DCP alumni and the information given in the podcast referring to applying for the Disney College Program was SUPER outdated and can potentially be misleading to people who are applying for the first time. I’d recommend collaborating with people who have done the program more recently just so the information given is more current. Other than that, love what y’all are doing!!

I want to love this podcast but after listening to the last episode they really showed their ignorance. A pyramid in Mexico is called a pyramid. A grito was not invented in this movie or Coco. Nothing they said is fully mean spirited but 5 minutes of research could not make them look so foolish. The podcast is charming but it’s incredibly disheartening to hear this lack even trying to learn about the culture they are talking about.

This is a great podcast for the biggest Disney movie fans! Such personal and in-depth discussions. A must-listen Podcast!
