On this episode of Grain, We have Jaffar Sidek. Jaffar is visually handicapped and worked as a professional musician / producer and also as a programmer for a period of time. He currently lives in between Singapore and Philippines where his wife and 5 children live.

On this episode of Grain, we have Rosie with us. Rosie was blind from a young age, but she continues to have an adventurous spirit and doesn’t believe that blindness should be a factor which restricts her from living out her life to the fullest. At 50 she scaled the 4095m Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia, and later on she also picked up new skills in cooking, sewing and even a diploma in Aroma Therapy and Holistic Massage. She also has a granddaughter who is 4 this year.

On this episode of Grain, Xing En shares with us her life as a student studying in NUS, pursuing a degree in English Literature. She has a passion to help the less fortunate and does this through volunteering in activities with CAPT (College of Alice and Peter Tan) NUS, which has an “Active community engagement” initiative that supports various causes such as animal welfare, elderly wellbeing, foster children and disability.

On this episode of Grain, Hong Sen will share about owning a guide dog in Singapore. You may have seen his guide dog, Clare starring in a few informative videos with Hong Sen. He was most recently in an ad which informed the public on how to interact with the visually Handicapped while commuting on public transport.

On this episode of Grain, we will be speaking with Hong Sen about his passion for technology and how he uses it to help other visually handicapped individuals in their day to day lives.  He also an advocate for guide dogs in Singapore and owns a guide dog named Clare whom you might have seen starring in a few informative videos with Hong Sen. He currently works in the IT Skills training department of SAVH which provides training for the visually handicapped to operate technology independently.
