In the very near future, the world's militaries will be incorporating even more robotic and AI tech into their armaments, including face tracking drones with weapons, robotic exoskeletons and robots with guns. Ideally, we'd be able to remove humans from combat, and even turn wars into video games - but that's unlikely to happen. Countries that spend the most money on their militaries will also use these new killing machines to change the rules of engagement. It's not pretty, but it is the future of war.

A day late, but still ahead of its time... here is this week's look at the future. The very near future in fact, because robotic exoskeletons are pretty much a thing already. They have application in factories and many industries, in the military and for healthcare. The Age of Bionics is upon us!

Sometime in the future - the sooner the better - we need to stop using plastic. It's literally killing the world, and us.

Imagine a time in the future where you could get the perfect meal - exactly what you like to eat, what your body needs for nutrition and what your budget can afford. If we can overcome the potential dangers of predictive analytics, we could learn to trust and enjoy the upsides of systems that proactively help us to live our best lives. This is the future we should be trying to create.

We have the technology to put civilians and non-astronauts in space. Space tourism can't be far away - not just a few minutes in near space, but proper holidays off the planet.

I am sure that in my lifetime we will see bases on the moon and people on Mars. We do this because we can, and also because such a great endeavour will encourage innovation and technology advancements that will impact the world today. It's more of an ethical and moral decision than a technology one.
