Distracting vocal fry (Emily)

the hosts are delightful, and I can’t think of any other podcast that really gets into the technical aspects of writing like this one does. The subjects are well-chosen too! My only complaint is the levels of the mics are off, and one host is quieter than the other. I’m always having to adjust the volume depending on who is speaking.

Ben and Emily are the best Monday morning podcast hosts, always in a good mood, always insightful. It’s a writing craft podcast that actually discusses craft! It’s focused but not dogmatic! They recommend interesting work! For anyone wishing to get an MFA, bummed about their own writing circles, or just like prodding a paragraph with a stick and asking “how did you do that”? Favorite episode might be the fig tree metaphor from the bell jar for its dissection of the writing but also for the meta-analysis of that segment taken out of context. But they’re all good! Every episode a banger! I’m gonna go work on my Ben impression.

It’s nice to get real technical craft ideas.
