Leaping off Luther's Back
Hi, I’m Mac, your host. In this episode, we’re going to vault off Luther’s back. We're not going to stand on the shoulders of the last reformation, but go higher, more free, trusting a deeper resonance of how we encounter the divine and develop our Christ Consciousness personally and corporately. We’ll offer a way to Be on the Way…Here's the new Reformation:THE GATHERINGA MANIFESTO FOR LIFEOUR WAYS OF BEING ON THE WAY OF JESUS OF NAZARETH• With God: God, who is absolute in diverse gender essence, is for us. God is no respecter of one person or belief system over another, as we are all loved by the Creator beyond our wildest imagination for eternity.• With Jesus: Jesus of Nazareth was the great example, not the great exception. His life and teachings provide The Way of salvation from our egoic nature into a life like no other. Understanding the Creator intimately, he encourages us to develop our innate divinity as children of God and as ones who can learn to cultivate the light and mitigate the darkness in each of us. • With Ourselves: We are created in God's image and likeness. Our essence is good, created with an ongoing original blessing. Practicing a way of life that is motivated and directed by The Spirit of God will develop a likeness to The Christ that produces an exuberant life of affection for others, serenity, a sense of compassion in our heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates all things and people. Consequently, we will be equipped to marshal and direct our energies more wisely. • With Each Other: Together is better. We act as distribution centers of God’s love. Our interaction with others should transcend the world’s focus on duality and look to promote a mystical oneness that is evident in our lives of inclusion, tolerance, radical love, gracefulness, and spiritual poise. • With The Bible: We treat the Bible as our premier work of inspired ancient wisdom literature. We do not take it literally in all things or consider it infallible and inerrant. This perspective often undermines its foundational, profound ability to inspire, direct, and motivate our lives and elevate our thinking to a Universal Christ Consciousness. • In All of Creation: We seek to live a life such that we need to constantly be revived, as the wonderment of God takes our breath away. We are deeply connected to the universe, and out of respect for it, we seek to honor and care for it and promote social and individual actions that support that effort. • As The Church: We invite everyone to practice a communal life that cultivates our spiritual development through the ancient practices of prayer, conversation, contemplation, the sacred meal, fasting, Sabbath, observance of the sacred seasons, and generosity.

Figureoutable
We need to figure out how to make better decisions. Take to heart Einstein’s definition of insanity. Begin minimizing the bad ones (not eliminating them) and develop a course correction process that raises your level of consciousness and depth of wisdom. Everything is “figureoutable” given the right filter and amount of time—even if the answer for now is “I don’t know.”Questions to determine your Tribe of 5:       Who’s in your corner, always? ·                    Who pushes you to want more and to be your best?·                    Who cheers you on and genuinely celebrates your victories? ·                    Is there someone you can say anything to without fear of being judged? ·                    Where do you go for advice, or to vent your frustrations, or for a kick in the ass and some cold, hard truth? The tribe is about is a community or a group of people who share the same values and interests. They are headed in the same direction in life with some similar goals and passions. These people are loyal to one another and support each other unconditionally. A tribe is a second family.

Unraveling
Can we acknowledge that unraveling, breaking, and cracking is a bearer of truth and even a gift? Perhaps the Spirit has been nudging and calling us to embrace a new imagination, but the other one had to unravel for us to see us for what it was. In this sense, maybe the malaise in our lives has been the work of God. A life humbled by disruption and decline may be less arrogant and presumptuous.  We may have fewer illusions about our own power and centrality. We may become curious. We may become more creative.  We may be less willing to ally with the empires and powers that have long defined us. We may finally admit how much we need the true power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. That’s a life God can work with. Kintsugi: Kintsugiis the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold.It is based on the idea that embracing flaws and imperfections can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. A Cord of Multiple Strands: Some of the strands at times “unravel”. Some are repaired, some can be trimmed off, and a new graft can be put in place to strengthen the whole. Sets you up for a process of repair/rejuvenation/resurrection/enhancement.
