Brenda is brilliant & powerful ❤️
Such an amazing podcast and SUCH a brilliant host. I am always so inspired and in awe of how eloquent Brenda always is 🤍 and her mission is a beautiful, powerful, NEEDED one.
love over everything
Doesn’t acknowledge systemic racism
I’ve watched a few of her videos and I don’t agree on everything. However, it’s disappointing that she ghosted Jo instead of having a discussion with her on how Jo was hurt and listening to those from marginalize communities. It’s surprising since she labels herself as a progressive Christian that she doesn’t see that systemic racism exists and she has white privilege. She has said she has felt hurt and she tries to have a discussion with someone on a different view and they don’t respond but it seems like she is doing the same with Jo and ghosting her and not having a discussion. It just seems hypocritical and a double standard. So I haven’t watched her videos recently because of not acknowledging systemic racism and trying to understand her privilege as a white woman.

Lol @ some reviews.
The ONLY reason people think this is “unbiblical” is because they are of the mind that the Bible is meant to be taken literally. It was written metaphorically, and should be carried out in the same way.

Helping unravel a lot of harm
Brenda offers an often overlooked perspective that encompasses the love and acceptance that more Christians should strive for. So much harm and damage has been caused by religious zealots and it doesn’t have to be this way.. It’s time to bring back Jesus’ kind and loving message and this podcast is a great start. I may not agree with every single thing but that’s part of gaining a range of perspectives which can only help me understand my faith better

Needing work on ethics still but apparently unwilling
Love the ethical sexual liberation but don’t love the unwillingness to admit that she’s a work in progress that still needs to unlearn some racist stuff. Let’s be free from stupid sex stuff, stupid religious stuff, stupid sexist stuff, AND stupid racist stuff.

Very Thought-Provoking
This podcaster's name is Brenda Davies; I have listend to maybe 30 perecent of her podcasts, and I think she is very engaging and thought provoking. Personally, I am a conservative evangelical Christian, so I disgree with many, of not most, of her stands on Christianity and sexuality, However, I really appreciate the respectful tone Davies exhibits when she criticizes church culture and evangelical Christianity. The only reason I gave her 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I think she should work hard to directly interface those people she disagrees with. I think I have heard Davies state in some podcasts that she has invited onto her podcast some of those people she critiques, and I wish she could have succeeded in that a bit more. I am look forward to watching how her podcast changes in the future. I think Davies is very charming and intelligent, and I think she would be a VERY entertaining listen if she is able to broaden her appeal, which I think she may be trying to do. And I hope her for her all the best in that endeavor. Personally, I think Davies should look into doing other things in her podcast, such as reviewing movies and pop culture, and/or maybe giving lifestyle and relationship advice to her listeners.

Good for deconstructing Christians
This podcast was helpful for me as I deconstructed and I loved the variety of topics Brenda isn’t afraid to delve into. This was a resource that helped me ask challenging questions:
-Am I a progressive Christian?
-Am I Christian at all?
-Am I an atheist?
-Can I still have some form of spirituality outside of Christianity?

Great resource for debunking hate filled christian myth
Based in critical thinking, this is an honest and inclusive approach to discussing christianity and the ways organized religion spews hate, spreads misinformation, teaches us fear, and causes emotional harm.
If you have been mentally, physically, or emotionally abused by religious zealots, rest assured that you can listen to open and honest opinions without judgment via Brenda and her guests. Do not believe the negative reviews from christian extremists.

AMAZING!!
I love hearing when Christians focus on social justice. Brenda does just that. She tackles important topics such as purity, racism, LGBTQ, fat shaming, etc. This is a progressive Christian channel so whoever left 1 star review are just the white conservative evangelicals who grew up on a religion of fear so of course they won’t like Brenda because she likes to question the inconsistencies of the Bible. Thank you Brenda for everything you do!!

Please stop
I’m sorry but if your consistently having times with God you would know that what your teaching is not biblically and Godly correct. Just because we have temptation it doesn’t make us being true to ourselves if we give in. We have to trust God that his way is better. Also the bible is truth and was wrote and guided by the holy spirit. It is all true and you know it.

I Love Learning From A Woman
This is the first time in my life that I’ve listened to Christian teachings from a woman, and it’s also the first time in my life that the teachings have truly resonated with my spirit, convictions, and what I believe to be true. I am learning so much and I am so grateful for this podcast!!!
christijorg02
Thank you
I recently wrote a blog post on my experience as an evangelical where I called out the church as well as some things my parents did based on what they were taught by the church. Even though it resulted in me losing my relationship with my parents I have never been happier that this podcast gave me the information and strength I needed to share my experience.

Thank you!
I’m a 15 year old christian and i love listening to this podcast while I’m doing homework! It’s such a nice escape being the only progressive, fully affirming Christian in my homophobic, non-affirming, hateful “Christian” family. Everytime i have an anxiety attack from a fight i had with my family i listen to this podcast. It makes me feel understood and it’s so amazing to know there are other Christians who love people and Jesus as much as I do! ❤️❤️❤️ this podcast has also gotten me really interested in reading my bible everyday because i want to learn, and not from guilt :)

Beware
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” - Jesus, in the gospel of Matthew
This isn’t a movement that follows Christ. It’s a movement that distorts His teachings.
But then I saw her face
This is not from scripture
The topics discussed in this podcast are not truths that the Bible teaches. I pray that you, Brenda, repent and start teaching Biblical truth. Jesus says that anyone who causes any one of these little ones to stumble, it’s better to have a millstone tied around their neck and thrown into the sea. I pray that you see the error you have done and repent before a holy God or you will wish you had the millstone. Matthew 18:6
"but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it is better for him that aheavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea."

Brought Me Back to the Faith
Brenda’s YouTube channel and Podcast brought me back to Christianity when I considered abandoning it altogether. Thanks for being a living example of “love one another” and for giving me hope! ❤️

Incredible.
This show is simply the greatest, most profound spiritual discussion I have ever encountered on the Web or otherwise.
Listen and be challenged, and be changed.
A nice mess
Not a Christian podcast
If you are looking for a historical Christian podcast, this is not it.

Thank you, Brenda!
Wonderful podcast! I’ve been a fan of Brenda’s God is Grey channel on YouTube for the past two years and this podcast is a wonderful extension of her work. She is doing such beautiful work. Highly recommended!

Christianity as Christ Intended
No one has driven more people away from Christianity, and probably from all of organized religion, than the fundamentalists and evangelicals. They've stole this faith from us and given it a bad name with their hateful teachings. This podcast shows us that you actually can love thy neighbor, as Jesus told us to. Thank you so much for creating this podcast. It's so important.

Beautiful
Life is beautiful and grey so is this podcast
no lables
Love is not tolerance
Let’s remember that biblical love does not mean continuously allowing someone to be in sin. There are countless times in the Bible that Jesus calls out sinners to “go and sin no more”. Be careful here, this is not Christianity.
ChristinaM122
!!Be Careful!!
This podcast is misleading . It entices people with its affirming and welcoming “Christian” views. Brenda seems like a well meaning women, but she directly contradicts the Bible. You can’t change the Bible to fit your standards of kindness. Christians should be loving and welcoming to all, but we are not called to encourage people living in their sin. We are supposed to share the gospel and help people find their way to God. We should seek to change our sinful wants and desires to better align ourselves with God’s plan for our lives. Truth can be uncomfortable, but we should be grateful for the chance to refine ourselves. We can never be without sin, because man is sinful. Jesus died and rose again for the remission of sins. He made the ultimate sacrifice.Believing that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, that He is the Son of God, and that He died for our sins is the only way to heaven. However, we can not use God’s grace as a “get out of jail free card”. We shouldn’t continue sinning knowingly. Our purpose in life is to live for God and to be available for Him to use us for good. We should ask God to change our hearts and minds. Christians are supposed to look and act different than the world. That being said, we cannot change what the Bible says to please the world. We cannot be “progressive” with our religion and faith. The Word of God does not change to please the modern audience. If it did, it would not be a true and everlasting religion.

Thank you, for everything
Brenda has managed to create a space in which I’m able to fully be myself, learn, and grow in a culture that I previously felt pushed away from. Her podcast and community is wonderful and every episode has touched me and taught me something new.

Do not listen!!
Please understand people, nothing about this podcast is biblical. Jesus is not progressive to fit it with today’s culture. She is polluting the word of God with her own opinions. Go read your Bible instead.

Gratitude
I just wanted to take some time and thank you Brenda for all the light and love you’ve given me. Honestly I can’t explain I grateful I am to have actually manifested you in my life. A gift from God. I’ve learned to overcome a lot of shame and know that life is so full of gray areas, and I’m not crazy for feeling that way. Thank you. -diana 🫀

Informational, Respectful, and Eye-Opening
Brenda (God is Grey) has helped me so much! Between her YouTube channel and podcast, I have learned so much and grown in my faith. I was able to deconstruct and reconstruct with this help. I learned that I can be a Christian and a lesbian, as well as a Christian and an activist. I even learned that Progressive Christianity is a thing! Brenda gives more resources to further knowledge, freedom to disagree with her, and is always so respectful of people and different beliefs. I highly encourage people of any religion/belief system (or lack thereof) and at any place on that journey to give this podcast a try or check out her YouTube. :)

Not for cultists
This is not a podcast for people who claim they are the “true Christians” even though they are radical and judgmental. I love this podcast because it teaches that Christians aren’t bad people and DO have reasoning. As someone who was considering becoming atheist because I couldn’t see any good things coming from the community except blatant misogyny and radicalism, this was a ray of light for me. So sad that these same radicals are coming to hate on this podcast.

Love you girl!
This podcast is a wonderful escape for me as an 18 year old autistic woman. Going through deconstruction has been the hardest thing in my whole life, and going though it in secrecy is even harder. It’s helped me a lot in realizing I don’t have to believe exactly what my parents believe and that I am my own person and I matter even if I don’t always believe I do. My whole life I’ve always felt last in everything and less important as I was the youngest in my family and also a girl. Being a girl meant you were “separated but equal” but I knew I was lower and considered to be subservient to boys. But thank God I never believe it for a second and knew how demonic it really is to say such a thing. Thank you Brenda for being a light and illuminating these issues and for reminding me I’m not alone. Also #istandwithstelle #westandforlove #iwillspeakmymind

BEWARE!
This is 100% false teaching. If you’ve decided to follow Jesus, this podcast in no way aligns with Scripture. Beware, beware, beware!
2 Timothy 4:3-4
”For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine andaccurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold, and will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable].”

Not historical Christianity
I really wish people like Brenda would not call themselves “Christian”. It’s just a lie. Christianity has a historical definition. Just call yourself something else. Seriously. It would be like if someone converted to Buddhism and completely dismantled it’s historical teachings. And then if they paraded around like they had some special connection to it’s deity and that they’ve unlocked the secret truth of “TRUE” Buddhism. Do you see how silly that is? And it’s just intellectually dishonest. Regardless, the Bible says what it says. It has spoken plainly for thousands of years. Either A) you believe the God of Christianity has allowed the truth of Scripture to be obscured for thousands of years or B) the plain teaching of Scripture is true. It’s also bizarre how Brenda picks & chooses Scripture to quote from specific books of the Bible when it’s pretty obvious that she does not agree with the entire contents of those particular books. Brenda may not realize it, but she sets herself up as the arbiter of truth because of this. People have to train themselves to do her mental gymnastics in order to glean what she deems as “true” from Scripture. My hope for her is that she would repent & believe the unadulterated Gospel that has been passed down in the Church for thousands of years. Or that she would completely walk away from any form of “Christianity” as she calls it.

False teaching in every episode
This podcast is filled with false teaching and is trying to bend God’s word to fit a sinful worldview. It’s preys on young women searching for meaning outside of a right relationship and understanding of God’s word.
