Goldfinger meets Agent Cody Banks - Candy Corn Cinema Ep10
He's the man, the man who can't talk to girls!   Frankie Muniz, Hilary Duff, Arnold Vosloo, the baggiest of clothes, there is nothing more 2000s than Agent Cody Banks and we take a look at this love letter to spy film both new and old and see if it was vastly overlooked at the time.   And who else but to team him up with other than the man who's problems would all be solved if he could just keep it in his pants! The gold standard of Bond films, the one that introduced things like a sense of humour, a cold open sequence, a New personality for Q and influential director Guy Hamilton.    So how does an all-time classic spy movie hold up to Goldfinger...  Just kidding!

Wizard of Oz meets Return to Oz - Candy Corn Cinema Ep9
Disney bought the rights and made a dark fairytale sequel with the Henson company in the 1980s that ended up more like the books the films are based on after the unmatched success of 1939's The Wizard of Oz, a marvel, marred by behind the scenes drama.

Reilly Returns! Superman meets Man of Steel- Candy Corn Cinema - Ep8
This week on Candy Corn Cinema we welcome back Mark Reilly to the network to talk about two incarnations of the big blue boy scout. Richard Donner made you believe a man could fly and Zack Snyder showed us the consequences of that man. Each film tackles the super-baby-totally-not-Jesus trope to varying degrees and we'll talk about how and why they each hold up to their respective legends.

Blazing Saddles meet A Million Ways to Die in the West - Candy Corn Cinema - Ep6
For nearly as long as I can remember now people have been saying "You can't remake Blazing Saddles today" Well someone should have given that memo to Seth MacFarlane in 2014, 40 years after Blazing Saddles hit the scene in 1974 the Family Guy creator and all-around renaissance man decided he wanted to direct, write and star in his very own western. How does one of the classics of comedy by one of the best comedian's ever, stack up today and against it's spiritual successor in both film and their auteur's?

Batman + Robin meet Batman (1966) - Candy Corn Cinema Ep. 5
Caped crusaders POW, THWACK and THWANG into action in these two love letters to camp.    Adam West and Burt Ward play Batman and Robin in the Dark Knights first feature film that set the tone for better or worse for years.   George Clooney and Chris O'Donnel play Batman and Robin in the Dark Knights ALMOST final film and helped change the tone of Batman forever.   In honour of director Joel Schumacher, we take a look back at the camptastic toy fest that was his final adaptation of Batman and where his film is clearly influenced by Leslie H. Martinson and his version of Batman. Neither is accurate to the comic but BOTH have a charm that we try to explain why we love.

Inglorious Basterds meet The A-Team - Candy Corn Cinema Ep. 4
Apologies for the late upload!!! Two groups of military-trained fighters, two completely different missions but maybe a common thread in between. Quinten Tarintino's WWII Epic tale of revenge and rewriting history sits high in his works; a tough, gritty team of Jewish soldiers and a hunted Jewish woman, along with her Black French lover simultaneously plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler and the high command of the Nazi regime. Whereas Joe Carnahan's military team film sets a slightly different tone, based off the 80s TV show of the same name, The A-Team sees an A-List cast (with a surprisingly good Fighter turned Actor performance form "Quinten Rampage" Jackson) of Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Patrick Wilson, and Sharlto Copley coming off of his breakout NA role in District 9.  So how do both of these team-up-military-action movies compare? Is the A-Team really rotten at 48%? Tune in to find out!

The Avengers meet The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Candy Corn Cinema Ep. 2
What do Sean Connery's swan song and the culmination to Phase 1 of what became the biggest franchise in the entire world have in common? Other than some strange misogyny, actually quite a bit, join us this week as we break down The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and The Avengers in hopes to see if this 17%  on Rotten Tomatoes movie, a movie that ended the career of its director is really that bad?
