One of the more bewildering parts of parenting is what we're supposed to do when our child lies. As parents, we try to teach our children to be truthful and honest. But when a child lies, it can seem like a personal negative judgment on our parenting abilities. So how are we supposed to confront our children when they lie? How do we point out the lie not in a condemning way, but a restorative way? And how do we convey to them the seriousness of lying that it's a sin and teach them to always tell the truth, especially to parents? How do we teach them how to ask for forgiveness from others and also from God? This episode is about what actions we can take with young children that will teach them to stop lying and to be honest. Â In this episode, Sharon and Eunice share how they navigated these waters.

This episode is loosely inspired by the Serenity Prayer, "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change and courage to change the things I can." We asked each other to fill in the blank to these two questions: "I need to be okay with..." and "I need to..." The first question is about acknowledgment and acceptance and the second is about action and pivoting. Â We categorized our answers into 3 main areas: COVID, family, and work. We hope you enjoy this thoughtful reflection and that it will inspire you to also create your own list to share with the rest of the GG tribe!Â

Thanksgiving is around the corner and in the midst of Covid and uncertainty in politics, how do we maintain a mind-full of thanks, gratitude and peace? An average person has 60-70,000 thoughts a day, so how do we center all those thoughts? A grounding thought can influence the rest of the day, our attitude, our mindset, and affect how we instill a beautiful mindset in our children. The energy we put out is often the energy our kids are gobbling up! In this episode we talk about Christian yoga, workouts, meditating, priming, and more! Today we'll be talking about speaking Korean at home...but specifically teaching our kids Korean! Â This is probably something that differs from one Korean American household to another depending on who lives in the house or who you are married to! Â For example, Sharon is married to a KA and speaks English to her husband, and Eunice is married to a Korean Korean and speaks mostly Korean with her husband. Â We dive deep into how we spoke Korean in our childhood, our Korean speaking goals for our kids, how we feel about Korean school, and Korean learning resources that are available.

This episode is for our listeners out there that currently have a newborn or infant. We want to acknowledge and recognize those mothers and give them some love and encouragement. So we see all the mamas (and papas)... it’s hard, tiring, and even boring sometimes! It’s okay to feel like you don’t know what you’re doing. Everyday will not be like a pampers or huggies commercial. We have to remember that when we gave birth to our child, 3 new creatures were born that day- the child, the mother, and the father were all born at the same exact moment! We hope that this episode will encourage you to not only survive but thrive as a loving parent!
