This... this is THE perfect Rome podcast. If you are traveling to Rome, you will not regret starting this. I wish I could've had him as a teacher in school as he gives amazing explanations of the sights and history you will see.

I’ve listened to the first 20 or so podcast and they are fantastic. I have been reading many books on Rome especially it’s monuments preparing for a trip and this is exactly the kind of information I was looking for thank you so much for making this fantastic series of podcast.

This is the best podcast for anyone intellectually inclined to prepare for a trip to Rome. His account of the features of Rome and his research are outstanding, and his website which crosslinks all of the episodes is a real treasure. Thank you Dr. Ambler.

This guy is great! I have my own podcast in the works on the darker history and hauntings of Rome, but I want to write having a strong knowledge base of Rome in general. I appreciate the digestible episode length and non-judgmental look at ancient Roman custom. Focusing on the history, not opinions, really keeps the episodes on track. Also, I appreciate the supplemental information on the website and your podcast map (!!!) is a feature I wish other podcasts would implement. Obviously this podcast is delivered by someone with a strong background in education. Thank you, Prof. Wayne! Keep the great pods coming! 10/10

There are travel podcasts about Rome and history podcasts about Rome, but this podcast combines those approaches in a very thoughtful and engaging manner. I’ve taken a couple of student groups to the Eternal City and diligently prepared for those trips, but with this podcast, I’ve learned a great deal. If you’ve been to Rome or plan to travel to Rome or just have interest in Rome, you will enjoy this podcast. The host’s affable style makes you wish you could walk around Rome and its surrounding areas with him.
