When you have a busy mind, your whole body feels completely off and everything is disconnected. In this episode, we chat about your busy mind and real life actionable things to slow down a busy mind.
Stuff we talked about…
- Having a purpose in life helps you focus and come back to the heart.
- Step out of your regular life.
- We can only calm a busy mind when we realize that our mind is busy. We can only realize that our mind is busy by becoming aware of our singular thoughts.
- Breathe. The easiest way to become present is the breath. When we’re present, we become aware of the thoughts we’re having.
- Journal. Get the mess from your mind onto paper. It will make you feel better.
- Movement. Yoga, pilates or dance. Feel into your body!

Inside our private MerryBody group, we often have Q+As. This week we took the chat here, to the Get Merry Podcast!
We asked our members about their biggest struggles, we gave our advice. We chat about lack of motivation, binge eating, the all or nothing attitude when it comes to exercise and so much more!
It’s just us having a chat about very common struggles.
Stuff we talked about…
- Lack of motivation is a VERY common human struggle. We often wait for it to float in, but what is missing is that first step of action! Also tune into episode 127: How to stay motivated to exercise and eat healthy.
- Diet and binge eating.
- Sleep issues. Rituals, meditation and more.
- How to deal with overwhelm.
- Remember, perfection isn’t real. It’s okay if you feel like you’re struggling.
We love Q and A’s! If you have questions, message us and let’s figure it out together. Send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] or message us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @themerrymakersisters.

In this episode, we chat about the yogic philosophies in a real-world sense. In our opinions, these are the greatest teachings within yoga (yes, more important than the perfect handstand!) and they are extremely useful in our modern lives.
Stuff we talked about…
- “All is exactly as it should be”, which falls under the practice of surrender or Ishvara Pranidhama.
- When we release the perceived control of our lives, suddenly all that happens around us is happening ‘for us’.
- Satya is speaking and living your truth. To be truthful and honest to yourself, not just to other people.
- We’ve been taught not to tell the truth, as in ‘follow the should-be’s’, to be on our best behaviour to always please other people.
- What is the ego?
- Santosha translates to contentment. In order to feel content, we need to accept.
- Yoga is a tool for us to practice acceptance. Acceptance allows us to be who we truly are. When we accept, we’re also surrendering.
If this resonated you in any way or if you’ve got anything to add, we’d love to hear from you. Send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] or message us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @themerrymakersisters.

In this episode, we chat pivots and changing directions, in any area of your life, whether it be in business, career, relationships, location, and dreams.
It’s easy to feel like you can’t change direction because you’ve already spent so much time and energy dedicated to building or creating something. Even though it might be something you truly want to do, it’s difficult to turn your back on all the years and the energy you’ve spent working toward that thing.
Stuff we talked about…
- Everything you’ve done in life is leading you to exactly where you’re meant to be.
- Follow your heart. Follow your bliss. Follow what you truly want to do, not what you think you should be doing.
- There were pivots that we’ve made in our lives that helped us get to where we are right now. Our latest big pivot is the realization of how strongly we feel about not contributing to any form of diet culture.
- Sometimes we don’t know what we want, but we know what we don’t want. This is still good!
- Age as an excuse to not make a change.
- Sometimes you need to pivot, jump in. You don’t need to have a perfect plan.
You have this one gift of life, if you make a change now it will impact the direction of your life completely. Don’t let fear get in the way. It’s never too late to start again.

We’re really excited about this episode! We chat Bridgerton, the number 1 most-watched original Netflix series right now.
Yes, we watched it and joined in all the fun… along with the 82 million Netflix subscribers. Set in 1813 England, think Gossip Girl and Jane Austin then get ready for beautiful 19th century balls gowns and sexy suits.
Oh, warning, there are lots of spoiler alerts in the episode! Also we do touch on some subjects like sex, masturabtion and abortion.
Stuff we talked about…
- It makes you question marriage and why we have it. Back then, marriage was more of a business transaction, not a love match.
- It is fine for men and women to dress up and impress to get attention. But what is wrong is the societal pressure that comes with it.
- Sex education, pleasure and masturbation.
- We chat about abortion as one of the characters is pregnant out of wedlock (a great sin back then).
- Men experience the pressure of being the breadwinner, supporter and protector.
- How great the costumes were. Corsets may look great but for us, feeling comfortable is more important.
- Julie Andrews is Lady Whistledown!
If you’ve watched Bridgerton, we’d love to hear from you. Who’s your favorite character? Send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] or message us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @themerrymakersisters.

Welcome to the second episode of the Get Merry Podcast for 2021. A chat inspired by a conversation with an acquaintance who shared her business idea. We felt really excited for her, we shared some advice and she thanked us for being supportive.
It got us thinking about supporting others and the ways we can each do that… but also, it made us question why so many of us don’t show support.
Sometimes, friends or even family members completely turn a blind eye to what you’re passionately doing or creating, whether it’s a business, a creative project or any project.
Stuff we talked about…
- Why people try and cut you down when you are rising up. Listen to Episode 166: tall poppy syndrome, stop criticising others and start encouraging them!
- Why it’s important to support your friends or family when they want to do something new or different.
- If you have a friend in business, why not support them? The best way, purchase their product or service.
- When a friend or a family member purchases our product, it makes us feel acknowledged and valued.
- Receive and be open to help. We have never had a mentor but we have had mentor-like figures in our biz life. In this episode we go through the key lessons they taught us.
- Celebrating the success of others and not feeling jealous.
- In being happy for others, you become happier yourself.
Remember that there’s space for everyone to succeed. Choose love over fear because when you choose to love and support, you reap the benefits. Whereas, when you choose fear, your anxiety, jealousy and anger grows.
Are you choosing love or are you choosing fear?

We’re so excited to bring you the first episode of the Get Merry Podcast for 2021. Are you getting bombarded with new year marketing? We vote it’s not about “new year, new you” kind of thing. It’s not about having to change yourself. Or “better” yourself.
The truth is that you’re amazing right here, right now, just as you are.
So maybe, the only thing that does need to change is your perspective?
Stuff we talked about…
Obsession and feeling stuck within diet culture. It’s our job as individuals to become aware of it. Unfollow and unsubscribe to anything that makes you feel like you’re not enough.
It’s all about the mindset. No matter what you look like, if you have a self-loathing and toxic mindset, you would not accept your body. Even if you looked like a supermodel.
The mindset never changes unless you work on it. The first step is recognizing that you want to make a change.
A great new year’s resolution is working on your mindset to accept yourself just as you are.
Self-acceptance is the most important practice we can do. Find your own reminder to help you with this practice.
This year, the 3 words we’d like to welcome in are: flourish, presence, wonder.
Flourish in everything you’re doing. More presence in every moment rather than thinking about what’s next. Notice the great beauty and wonder around you.
So, tell us your 1-3 words or intentions for 2021. We’d love to hear from you. Send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] or message us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @themerrymakersisters.

Everyone’s excited to say goodbye to 2020. It has been a huge year and it’s going to be a year that no one will forget. In this episode, we chat about routines and why it might be the to change yours.
Stuff we talked about…
- The magic of switching up your routine and trying something new. You don’t need to change everything in your day. You could just change one thing.
- One of the easiest ways to step outside your routine is to change your physical location. We recently went to Byron Bay for a few nights, it really re-energised us!
- Learning and experiencing something new is also good for the brain.
- Telling ourselves that we don’t have time is a common excuse not to make a change. The truth is we all have the same amount of time, it’s more about priorities.
So, tell us what you’re going to change. We’d love to hear from you. Send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] or message us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @themerrymakersisters.

Last week we rolled out the New MerryBody App, Carla's little baby she's been working on for the past 7 months! There was a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears making this App, and it was 100% worth it!
When we began this project there was a clear fork in the road. We had two options, the easier road where we could have launched the app in 8 weeks but it wasn't exactly what we wanted. Then there was the harder road, the unknown road, it would take longer and we'd need to learn new skills. Tune in and find out why the hard road was well worth the extra effort!
Stuff we talked about...
- How Jarrod, our good friend and our Internet God (or Fairy Godfather), guided us in the process of building the new MerryBody App.
- The magic of guides and mentors. Like Jarrod, Yoda and Dumbledore.
- How it feels at the end of a big project.
- Feeling overwhelmed and out of depth is a good thing. The ultimate creator in self-confidence is stepping outside of your comfort zone.
- We took the harder road because we always strive to do our best. We knew it would be a better quality product.
We are so excited for our members to use the New MerryBody App. If you're a member make sure you update it!
And if you have a new project or a new goal, and you're feeling overwhelmed and riddled with self-doubt, just give it a go! You can do hard things. Life wasn't supposed to be easy all the time.

Money is a very important part of our lives. It impacts our health and happiness, that’s why it’s important to talk about this subject. Money is often a taboo subject and it can feel awkward to talk about. So let’s strive (as best we can) to have the awkward conversations… because as we talk about it more, then it no longer feels awkward. As we share stories and lessons, we each become more educated.
Now is the time to take a step forward and learn how to be financially independent. In this episode, we’re talking about multiple income streams. Most importantly we literally brainstorm a bazillion ideas for you. And, we hope this episode makes you feel that you are capable of more and everything you want to achieve.
Stuff we talked about…
- This pandemic taught us that nothing is stable and for sure.
- It’s a smart thing to not put all your eggs in one basket.
- Think and look at your income streams and where they’re coming from. They don’t need to be massive. You could start really small and grow from there, or stay small and create another small one.
- It’s good to be prepared for the future. This is why having multiple income streams is a good idea.
- There is no such thing as passive income. There’s always an element of work.
- There are lots of ways where you can offer your time and ability to people who need it and get paid for it. Here’s some ideas: selling digital products, apps, challenges, physical products, other people’s products through affiliate links, online courses, blog writing, advertising, investing in the stock market or properties, gardening, babysitting, mowing loans, and a whole lot more.
Having multiple income streams can be a lot of fun. If you feel like you don’t have time to begin something else, then simply check in with what you do with your time… maybe there is some space to find!
If you have any more ideas, reach out and let’s have a discussion because we love talking about this kind of stuff!
Send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] or message us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @themerrymakersisters.
Always merrymaking,
Emma + Carla
