Traumatic experiences are, very sadly, all too common in many of Africa's trouble-spots where war, rebel activity or natural disasters strike. Ian Flanders, supported by his wife Hélène, produces GBM's French-language radio programme Espérance Aujourd’hui, which is broadcast widely in francophone Africa and beyond. Ian has recently begun working on a new series of programmes that aim to address the subject of trauma and how, as God's people, we can respond to it and help those who are suffering. In this episode of Across the Nations Ian and Hélène tell us about this important new project. (This interview was recorded on 18 November 2022. We were joined at Annual Mission Day 2022 by a worker who serves in Central Asia. He preached the closing message from 2 Corinthians 3:1-4:6, reminding us that we can keep going in the Lord's service because the God who is with us has given us a message of great power. This recording includes the congregational singing of the final hymn, 'Great is the gospel of our glorious God.'
