I'm a fan of geek properties and I don't find many people who love talking about them. Especially not at work. Things like TV structure, Actors/directors/writers, Movie Plots, Video Game nostalgia, costume making, Toy collecting, fantasy novels, etc. And to hear not "uber fans" but relatively normal people who are fans talk about their favorite pastimes is a nice relief.
