With 80% of our plastic waste ending up in landfills in Canada, it’s time to develop a new system. Working with industry on testing new solutions through the Plastics Research in Action (PRIA) partnership, NAIT work industry, research staff and students to test and obtain data to develop technologies for our waste problem that works in the Canadian climate and context.

Such as working on turning plastic bag waste into asphalt, we need to look at a number of solutions to transform our linear waste system to one that is truly circular with all waste finding it’s way back to the value stream.
