Gail!! Please finish your sentences!!
I have listened to four shows, and must give some feedback. I really appreciate all of the information and the eloquent way you all share. Specifically to Gail: I am engaged in what you are saying, but I need you to complete your thoughts/sentences!!! I feel a little jerked around!

Passionate and authentic
Full Mutuality resonates with post-Evangelical experience. Nate and Gail were in the trenches and came out the other side with the deep perspective and drive to help those who can benefit from their solidarity and vision. These are necessary conversations, and the show continues to be smart, well-produced and relevant.

OMG! Arrogant, annoying, a-holes.
As someone who was in a spiritual abusive (SA) church, they delegitimized my experiences of trauma and pain from someone who were called by God (or self-proclaimed preacher). What Rise and Fall of Mars Hill did was allows people to process and share what happen without the condescending or judgemental attitudes unlike this Podcast. For many, SA is something new and have never been taught in the church. It is no wonder it is overlooked or misunderstood. And if you’re looking for understanding, or ways to process your SA trauma, then look somewhere else than this podcast.

Feel like I’m hearing from clever, safe friends
The podcast hosts chat with brilliance and eloquence, yet with total welcome and acceptance. They’re your smart friends, in your living room, who put words to the thoughts you had but couldn’t articulate while you were leaving Evangelicalism.

Thought provoking and needed
Full Mutuality shines a light on evangelicalism’s darker sides that are often overlooked. We can’t truly move forward as a society unless we are all held accountable, including the institutions we hold dear. Give it a listen! You won’t regret it.

Great Discussions!
Before I became a guest on the podcast, I listened to the first few episodes and learned a lot about evangelical church culture. I had a great time chatting with Gail and Nate on our episode about Bob Jones University and Fundamentalism. Thanks for having important and challenging conversations on your podcast!

A space for outcasts
I appreciate the space they make for those of us who are navigating our way through adverse religious experiences. There are so many issues in religious spaces and the hosts are having the needed conversations about the systems and powers at play.

Stuck in a Feedback Loop
I was sent this podcast as a follow up on the Rise and Fall, but I can’t even make it through the first episode. The hosts, likely for good reason, obviously have a bone to pick with anything and everything Evangelical. I share that frustration and trauma history, but attacking it with the arrogant and frenetic energy of this podcast is not the way to enlighten and draw others out of these toxic systems. All this does is fuel the feedback loop of anger and bitterness and further entrench each side in their positions. We absolutely need to address the issues of inequality, and podcasts that help direct us towards solutions would be valuable. I just don’t believe that can be done well without compassion and love for the humans on the other side of the fence.

Disappointing
I was really excited to hear a commentary on The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill, as I recently completed that podcast series and wanted to hear perspective on it. The criticism felt really far fetched and came off more as ridicule of the other podcast’s host than an in-depth conversation about equality within the church/Mars Hill/TR&FOMH. I’m giving it two stars because maybe the other episodes are better and more focused and reverent of human dignity, but episode one was not it.

Grasping at straws
I’m half way they the first episode. A friend sent this to me because I enjoy topics like this as a progressive. I’ve listened to every episode of The Rose and Fall of Mars Hill, and it feels like they are just criticizing for the sake of creating content. They just sound super winey and I was disappointed because the concept and content of this podcast had a lot of potential. I feel like the same criticisms could had hit home if they didn’t sound like complaining junior highers.

Much needed conversations
The conversations in this podcast are crucial and important. If you find yourself feeling defensive when hearing what they have to say, maybe that's a good indication that you're participating in the kinds of inequities they're talking about. Churches and church leaders should listen closely and take notes. It might be worth reevaluating what you're doing and how you're "caring" for people.

Love Full Mutually!!
I’ve been following the writings of Gail for a while now and could not be more excited that she and Nate are finally doing a podcast! It’s everything I could have hoped for and more. They bring fresh insight and delightful humor to every topic they tackle. I can’t wait for more!

An honest analysis of evangelicalism
If you have a background in white evangelicalism and have ever wrestled with its toxicity, I think you’ll enjoy the inaugural episode of the full mutuality podcast. The hosts have great chemistry, and bring both experiential and academic insights to this important conversation. I cannot wait to hear future episodes.
