What is this? The best podcast ever??

We are inundated with stories about the life and times of celebrities/athletes/authors etc. It’s rare you get to sink into stories of your neighbors, coworkers, old high school friends, and acquaintances. We’ve all been through more than we realize, and the power of acknowledgment from another person is real. This podcast does just that, as in it gives all of these various people in our lives the opportunity to tell their story, be heard, and be acknowledged. I love this podcast!

When I heard there was a podcast about interviewing Facebook friends, I was skeptical to say the least. Who wants to hear from average Joes when there’s a whole world of celebrity and entrepreneur interviews on demand? Well it turns out the answer is: I do. And you should too. Public figures have reputations to protect and projects to promote and therefore remain guarded most of the time. If you want genuine vulnerability (and trust me, you do) then this is the show for you. Everyone has a story and you never know whose will resonate with you. Some of these have hit me harder than any other interview I’ve heard. Give it a listen and thank me later!

It’s rare in the world today to find something real. We get so caught up in our celebrities and musicians and all other sorts of idol, we forget about us the regular people. We have stories and experiences just as moving and as important as all the celebrities we watch and listen to. Justin is providing us with a inlet into that we can hear what us regular folk are living like. I was excited when I got the message from him to come tell a bit of my story. Pretty sure I had old ska music playing for a few days after reminiscing with him about our HS days. I can only hope that if anyone is struggling with the same stuff I am they hear my interview with Justin and find some comfort. Keep it up Justin!!!

In a world where most of what we see and hear in the media is curated to play to a certain purpose, it’s awesome to have a place to hear REAL people’s REAL stories. I’m trying to learn from what I hear - maybe in small ways like having more empathy for the guy on the corner, maybe in bigger ways like being better equipped to raise my kids - it’s all valuable. And it almost makes me look forward to traffic on I-75!

Thank you for providing me with an hour of real entertainment every week. Your interviews flow naturally, and the tough topics are approached with empathy and compassion. Keep it going!
