In this episode of Freedom Isn't Free, I speak with Hong Kong University Professor Benny Tai. In 2014, Beijing denied Hong Kongers the right to true universal suffrage. In response, Professor Tai initiated Occupy Central, which came to be known as the Umbrella Movement. The occupation lasted 79 days, and Professor Tai was sentenced to 18 months in jail as a result. He shares his story as well as his thoughts on the recent Hong Kong Uprising and the Wuhan Coronavirus. Please leave a review on this podcast! We truly appreciate the support.
