Super charming & punk
Nearish future post medical apocalyptic drama of radio broadcasts that changes focus a couple times before ending abruptly as a corporate espionage mystery. The beginning is super charming, a lonely broadcaster fixing up an abandoned town and inviting people to come to live there. It sticks with you. But the plot and turns the show takes are pretty random.

Near and Dear to my heart
I love this podcast. It's such a compassionate post-post apocolyptic story, which is a rare find in itself. Characters have compelling motivations and pasts, and conflict is always resolved in very refreshing ways. The small societies of this new USA are fleshed out in a very interesting way with tons of personality and heart. I will say that the voice acting can get a bit campy and audio levels can vary wildly. But this podcast remains one of my favorite because of how high it set the bar for other fiction in terms of kindness, human connection, and human flaw.

Right Up There With Welcome to Night Vale and Wolf 359
FREED is, without a doubt, one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to. The pacing is steady, yet never so slow as to leave you bored; the characters are complex and show realistic flaws; the plot is entertaining and heartbreaking, often in the same episode; and the premise of "life after societal collapse" manages to capture your attention by displaying a not-so-unbelievable future for humanity without relying on over-done tropes or predictable plot-twists. Also, BOTH of the main characters are LGBTQ+. One of them even uses nonbinary pro-nouns! (And is 100% a hilarious conspiracy theorist.) Additionally, during one arc this podcast narrates an abusive relationship Beautifully. There is nothing beautiful or entertaining to be found in abuse, but it's an important reality that few stories, regardless of media type, bother to address. Fewer still illustrate abusive relationships without any form of sugar-coating or fetishizing victimization, especially when it's between same-sex partners, yet FREED manages to navigate a devastating story of manipulation with respect and brutal honesty. This podcast is not about an abusive relationship; in fact, only a handful of episodes involve this relationship, but this particular storyline stuck out to me as one of the many things that makes FREED an excellent podcast unlike any other being produced today.

The narrator has a great voice and it's an interesting character. I am still early on in the show but it is really intriguing and I can't wait to hear more.

Soft Apocalypse Radio - awesome!!
Very optimistic and heartwarming. I love Raimi with all my heart and honestly am inspired by her positivity and go-getter attitude every time I listen. I love the world-building as well. Totally give it a listen!! At least through episode 7.

I just binged this entire podcast in the last like three days. So good, so cute, so queer, the apocolypse fiction we all needed.
