Night-Mare - The mare, also known as "nightmare" or "mara," is a supernatural entity from Germanic and Scandinavian folklore believed to sit on the chest of sleeping individuals, causing them to have terrifying dreams and experience sleep paralysis. This malevolent spirit is often depicted as a shadowy, ghostly woman who induces feelings of suffocation and dread in her victims during the night.
