Authentic, Smart, and One of a Kind
This is the first podcast review I’ve ever written, but after two years of dedicated listening I felt moved to. I found the show during Michigan’s national championship run and was instantly hooked. Serena’s sharp legal takes on the NCAA’s shenanigans drew me in, and what keeps me here is the combination of her and Matt’s football IQ, their personalities, and—most of all—the dynamic between them. As a queer female Michigan alum in the PNW, it can feel isolating to care this much about Michigan football. This is the only podcast that makes me feel like I’m actually in conversation with friends who get it. I’ve seen reviews saying “leave politics out, etc etc” - ignore them. Their full personalities and perspectives—including politics—are what make this podcast unique. Keep it all. That honesty and authenticity is exactly why this podcast stands out from all the cookie-cutter sports shows. Five stars, no notes. Go Blue.

Great show for any Michigan fan!
Have listened to the podcast from the beginning and always really enjoyed it. Interesting topics and a great rapport between them. I’m mainly leaving this review to beg Matt and Serena to move over to Bluesky. I miss their posts but I cannot go back to the fascist site.

True confession
I’d gone back to listening to the last episode from the 2023 season recently. I was afraid it might be the last one. I can’t wait to listen to the new Spring episode!

Wasn’t even into sports podcasts until Forever Saturday dropped
I genuinely learn so much from Serena and Matt — they know what they are talking about. And every week I’m excited to hear their thoughts, especially before and after a big game.

Good podcast but…
I enjoy listening to this podcast while driving for work. That being said, they frequently speak over one another or completely interrupt each other which makes it very difficult to understand what either of them are saying. The only other gripe I have is the incessant need for Serena to mix in a political take / opinion in every episode. This is a football / sports podcast. Not everyone who loves Michigan football shares her political beliefs. I would feel the same no matter what her political affiliation.
