A coworker asked me what I would say to someone who’s let themselves go or what I would say to someone who has gotten too comfortable in a relationship. As a single woman, there were not very many moments where I adjusted my look significantly enough just to meet another person’s expectations. Everything we do for our bodies, our health, and our appearance should be for ourselves FIRST. That said, in this episode, I talk about the difference between letting yourself go and getting too comfortable. When I think about how hard it is to deal with and heal from emotional pain, I compare it to a fractured bone. Your body will do its very best to put itself back together, but if you don’t take the time to care for it, get medical care, set the bone in place – you risk it becoming a “non-healing fracture.” It’s not just about emotional healing. It’s about healing correctly. Healing while you’re hurting will not happen on its own. You’re going to have to make the choice, sometimes over and over.
