I treasure this podcast. Ayana is an extraordinary interlocutor. I am writing because I just listened to the Sophie Strand interview. Several times in her very opinionated view of the world she shared beliefs and opinions that are just that, but which have basis in truth or fact. One can tell wondrous stories of the living world that dissolve one’s sense of “self.” Her stories do the opposite though it is obviously not her intention.

For sleep- quiet voices, ad free, folks talking to make the world a better place….it never fails to help me slip back to sleep on a morning where I have woken up at dawn and need a few more hours. Awake - the conversations are poignant, moving, inspiring, hopeful….i find myself writing things down and savoring. 5 stars.

Listeners should know that Ayana is blocking everyone asking why she is silent on Palestine. She will do literally anything but have an actual Palestinian fighting for liberation on this podcast. She’s a Zionist and a fraud.

Love this podcast so much. I’ve replayed each episode several times. Every interview just builds on the last one. It just feels like an endless conversation about love, hard truths, vulnerability, accountability and freedom. Each guests featured come with such authenticity. You can feel their passion, urgency and love.

As a suburban person who found myself dispairing at the prospect of collapse, this show stands out as a true beacon of light. I've cried listening to this show, learning of losses this planet faces that I never would've heard about, deepening my grief and, naturally, my love. I've deeply appreciated, and been challenged by, the rich spiritual potency of black/indigenous queer and women leaders. This show inspires me to take action, to open my mind more than I even knew possible, to keep unlearning, organizing, composting, singing, and praying with my feet.

I’ve tried listening to a few episodes and every time I have such a hard time with the audio that I have to turn it off. The difference between the host level and guest level make me have to turn the volume up and down as the conversation goes back and forth. Too much for me, which is a shame because the topics really draw me in.

Thanks for the intriguing and relevant content of today’s environmental issues. A wonderfully curated show with expansive interviews and awesome music. Ayana is thought provoking and extremely listenable with her pure energy always bringing good vibes. It was also nice to hear March Young’s voice on episode 20!

This podcast is truly amazing, and the topics Ayana covers, bringing in Indigenous leaders from all parts of the world, including recognizing European Indigeneity, doctors, scientists, and civil rights leaders. She does an amazing job and doesn’t shy away from critiquing the systems that dominate us all. Truly a gift ❤️

And I’ll stick around a bit. This is a balm, a reminder that things as they are now are not as it’s always been and a deep wisdom awaits ever patiently….

I learn so much from this podcast and it is tremendously valuable to me. The questions are thoughtful and the conversations are deep and meaningful. What I will say is that while most guests are real, true experts in some field—like scientists, activists, or academics, there are occasional crackpots. such as the guy who tried to argue that Cuba was a moral society…Cuba, the place where people are currently protesting because of poor quality of life and hunger and such (skip that episode). Besides the occasional subpar guest, this podcast is a great resource and I recommend it to anyone.

For The Wild has long been one of my favorite podcasts. Ayana and team bring some absolutely brilliant people on the show and create beautiful and engaging interviews.

The interviews I’ve listened to so far feel absolutely revolutionary, and their truth resonates through my entire being. I am inspired and grateful for this work.

I have really enjoyed some episodes and really disliked others. It’s very “out there”, ungrounded, abstract. There’s an academic parlance that feels disconnected from reality or practice. It’s also usually depressing and overloaded with an “us” versus “them” / “settler”/ “wise people” binary and division. I’m not sure what this podcast is supposed to be or what the intention is behind it but I’d enjoy more rooted, celebratory and revelatory nature based content. Maybe it’s not the podcast for me!

An absolutely incredible podcast, I look forward to each week. It is both unflinching at the social and economic reality we live in and simultaneously spoken from the heart, inspiring, and at times hopeful. It takes an intersectional, global, and personal view on this earth.
