ENCORE: For the One Who Has Been Settling for Less
It's time for an encore! I've pulled one of my favorite episodes from season one of the show. It feels appropriate as I take a huge leap of faith in this season and I felt like this could inspire you to consider what settlements you've been making. This episode will shake up your stagnancy and wake you up to let go of that one thing holding you back. You're holding onto 'that thing' for dear life. The thing that is less than what God has dreamed or hoped for you, and the thing that is actually sucking the life out of you; yet you still can't seem to let it go. Maybe it's fear or maybe it's distrust, but you are terrified to believe there could be more for you. Today, I'm sharing my biggest story of letting go and the two God-given gifts that helped me step into a whole new season of faith. It's your moment to believe for more and let go of less!Intro/Outro Song Used by Permission: "From Ashes" by PALA

For the One Who Feels like She is Too Ordinary
This week we welcome Katie Veach; mom, pastor, wife, teacher. And let me confess- I spent most of this interview in tears. Because there are simple conversations... and then there are defining moments when the Holy Spirit comes into the room to minister directly a tired heart. This is that conversation - hence my tears. So much of life with Jesus doesn't happen on a stage or in a ministry moment. It happens while teaching preschool, folding laundry, driving kids around, and navigating the interruptions of real life.So many women are waiting for a bigger calling while overlooking the places God is already meeting them. But his presence isn't reserved for extraordinary moments. He is present in the middle of ordinary life, and ordinary faithfulness matters more than we realize. If you're the woman who feels unseen, overlooked, or like your life is too small to matter—this one's for you.And maybe the bigger calling and the ordinary life aren't an either/or after all.Katie Veach is a pastor, speaker, teacher, and writer who is passionate about helping people stay connected to Jesus in the middle of everyday life. Drawing from her background in education and counseling, she combines biblical truth with practical wisdom and an honest, grace-filled approach that helps people grow in their relationship with God.Katie serves as co-lead pastor of Heart City Church in Dublin, Ohio, alongside her husband, Jake. Together they are raising four children and love building a church where people can encounter the goodness of God and learn to live like Jesus.Whether she’s preaching, writing, or sitting across the table from a friend, Katie’s greatest joy is helping people discover that following Jesus is not about striving harder, but staying connected to Him.Follow her on Instagram: katie_veach Become a member of Ruah + Ember's Academy - Get full access to cohorts, monthly LIVE calls, and a full library of spiritual formation courses.Music: ‘Stargazers,' 'Find your Why,' and ‘Echosphere’ by Cody Martin. For the One Holding onto Her Miracle
I've been waiting for a few months to share this news with you all - it's probably a top 5 announcement someone could make in a lifetime. And now I finally get to let you in on a little secret! While my family stands in the middle of our miracle playing out, I feel like I need to speak to the woman in year one of contending for her miracle. To the 'me' just 7 years ago. This is the heartfelt advice from a woman who has prayed for years for our breakthrough, the encouragement I needed to hear on the hard days and the call to unapologetic tenacity to keep hold onto the promise God planted within you. Become a member of Ruah + Ember's Academy - Get full access to cohorts, monthly LIVE calls, and a full library of spiritual formation courses.Music: ‘Stargazers,' 'Find your Why,' and ‘Echosphere’ by Cody Martin. For the One Untethering Loyalty - One on One with Jen Gleghorn Ph.D
This week we welcome Jen Gleghorn to the conversation for an honest look at the loyalties that shape us—and what happens when drawing closer to God begins to untether them.Jen has belonged to the same church since she was four or five years old. Forty-plus years. Her kids grew up there, her granddaughter is there now, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone more devoted to a place. So when God invited her into a closer walk and she sensed it would challenge her very definition of loyalty, it scared her. What she discovered in the season since is the heart of this episode: that her deep faithfulness to her church had quietly risen to the same level as her loyalty to God—maybe even higher.Jen shares the shift she felt from an Empire mindset to a Kingdom one, why our ultimate loyalty belongs to God alone, and how that reordering changes everything about why we stay and why we go. It's also a frank conversation about leaving well—the difference between being genuinely released by God and simply following our emotions out the door, and what a truly godly posture looks like when it's time to go.If you've ever wrestled with where your loyalty really rests, you'll want to sit with this one.About Jen Gleghorn Ph. D: Jen has taught high school English for 21 years and has been a volunteer staff pastor at Bridge of Hope Church in Boardman, Ohio since 2021. She has been married to Brandon for 25 years and together they have three children and two grand children. Her hobbies consist of reading, writing, and experiencing the world and people God created. Jen’s ministry focus has been walking alongside people who find themselves stuck in emotions and patterns of behavior, but who are looking for growth and hope for their lives. As she likes to say: awareness is good, deliverance is better, but freedom is the best.Become a member of Ruah + Ember's Academy - Get full access to cohorts, monthly LIVE calls, and a full library of spiritual formation courses.Music: ‘Stargazers' and ‘Echosphere’ by Cody Martin. For the One Stepping into Enemy Land
You're strong. You're an overcomer. You command a room and lead a tribe. You carry a vision. And yet — there are private moments when you feel none of it. When you second-guess your heart, your motives, your strength. Here's the truth: giants speak fear. The closer you get to the territory you were made to inhabit, the clearer their voices become. The Israelites didn't call themselves grasshoppers in the wilderness — only when they got close enough to see the promised land did the lies become louder. In this episode, Laura unpacks the enemy's strategy in the in-between — the healing gap, the faith gap, the place where stronghold is becoming wholeness. You were not invited into your calling to be perfect. You were invited because something sacred is on the other side. And where the enemy has tried to assault the in-between, we declare that we are victorious.Claim a spot in our YOU ARE A LEADER Intensive this July:We've got 12 spots for women who are hungry to dive into her purpose, identity and God-given graces. For the One Spread Too Thin
For every woman in the middle of too much at the same time.I was about to not record this week... until the Lord dropped this quick, yet hard hitting message in my lap this morning. If you're like me this month, you've experienced a word dropping out of your memory like it never existed. Or you've found yourself multitasking like a superhero. But you're realizing you're not a superhero, just an over functioning woman ready to make the sacrifices to get things done. Listen, this episode is the invitation and challenge that EVERY woman needs sooner rather than later. Because the price of burnout is too high, and if you're like me, you're not willing to pay that expense anymore. Join the Ruah + Ember AcademyMusic: Find your Why and Echosphere by Cody Martin. For the One in Her Breakthrough Era
Even this episode is an act of faith. This week I'm learning to show up at the bronze level — and trust that it's enough. Because not every episode is a bomb-dropper, and I'm learning the rhythm of how God speaks to me and how He made me to communicate. This one is for the woman in her breakthrough era.We so often think breakthrough means "I'm anxious and I need it to be gone." And yes — but what if there are 20 steps before that point that could be rewired? What if breakthrough isn't just the absence of anxiety, but the building of an entire ecosystem of joy and peace? We've bowed down to lies. Social media feeds us a mold for our age, our hair, our marital status, our location — and tells us who to be and what we should want. But what if you are uniquely made? With a pace, a circadian rhythm, a body type, a delight that actually fits you?Maybe it's not just fear or anxiety. Maybe your life has been out of sync with how you operate best — and your body is shouting at you to take the hint and change. What if you asked the Lord: how do I best operate? In this episode:Why breakthrough might start 20 steps before the moment you think you need itSeeing the fruit of a rewired brain and a system that brings lifeRejecting the cultural mold and discovering how you were uniquely made to liveWhy your breakthrough won't look like anyone else's — and that's the pointYour body might just be sounding the alarm to say: hey, let's build something different.Join the Ruah + Ember AcademyMusic: Find your Why and Echosphere by Cody Martin. For the One Who Knows She's Afraid
"We have been burying our investments in the ground and called it safe."In this episode, I'm speaking to the woman who is done playing small, done playing it safe, done playing it halfway and half-hearted.I've been sitting with the parable of the talents, and I can't stop thinking about the servant who buried what he was given — out of fear of rejection, fear of not being enough, fear of what could be taken away. I talk to women all the time who sense the call to lead, to write, to gather, to build, and yet bury that little sliver of hope because they're terrified of losing it.It's time to dig it out. It's time to trust the talents He's given us back into the kingdom of God.Obedience is costly. And the fire in her eyes was never hers to begin with.Join the Ruah + Ember AcademyMusic: Find your Why and Echosphere by Cody Martin. Used by permission.

For the One Stopping the Cycle of Frantic
As we head into Mother’s Day weekend, I’ve been thinking about my journey of motherhood, mixed with being a wife and leader. And while this isn’t necessarily a ‘Mother’s Day episode’, it is an episode for the women who are carrying it at all at the same time. And in the middle of moments where the world needs us, we feel… disconnected.Hollow. Frantic. Buzzing. On fumes.Chasing but behind. Like a snack machine moving from one thing to the next. We’re in all the places. With all the people. Meeting all the needs. But at the same time… none. So maybe this episode finds you in the middle of all those things, but feeling like your heart is somewhere far off in the distance. This episode is dear to my heart, far less teaching and way more testimony paired with prayer of breakthrough over you. From a woman who has felt at so many points like I’m drowning in the noise and caving under the pressure-to becoming a woman who has experienced peace multiply in my heart in a way that I didn’t think was possible. Sit back, get the tissues, and I want to prophesy over you connection, peace and the ability to be the woman God has wired you to be. - - - Learn how to take spiritual authority over your spaces and places of influence at our next LIVE Zoom call on May 27 in The Academy, include with our monthly Flame AccessMusic: Echosong and Echosphere by Cody Martin.
