Should we bother with political issues, social issues, cultural issues, elections, justice and all those sorts of things or should we just worry about preaching the Gospel? How big is the Gospel? Does it have something to say about government, elections, ilnesses, socialism, marxism, racism and all those other dirty isms, or are those just destractions from the Christian walk? Should be bother studying the deep theological issues of scripture, and how it applies to these things, or is that missing the point and greater calling to love Jesus? Welcome back! In this episode Treebeard lays out the reformed docterine of Sphere Soveriegnty and how it relates to issues facing Quebec and Canada today! Sphere Soverignty is the Kuyperian docterine that divides governance under God into the 3 main categories of Family, Church & Civil. God who is soverign over all things has delegated certain responsibilities to certain spheres of government. Each of these spheres are ultimately accountable to Him, and must not go beyond the boundaries set by Him. Underneath all of these realms of government is the concept of Self Government, which is the most necessary and foundational piece for the entire system of Sphere Sovereignty to function. In the latter half of the episode, we will take a look at Romans 13:1-7 and verse by verse explore a proper and Christian understanding of the sphere or civil governance. Hope this truly blesses you.
