I just heard of this show last month…fell in love with it — and in true black series fashion, it ended. I’m going back and listening to every episode.

Love this show!
Thanks for powering through and picking back up with For Colored Nerds after your previous shows. I really missed hearing your perspectives and look forward to your commentary every week. (I have to say I was in my car ARGUING with y’all on 95% of the Kendrick episode, but different POVs are important.) Keep shining.

Disappointed
Completely disgusted with that Kendrick album review and whoever that man was offering his unsolicited review. I expected more from you guys.

Love love love always. I always feel so full and powerful after every episode. The way y’all love on us through your topic selection and info gifting is remarkable.

So glad you both are back
I was about to give up on podcasts. Most are mediocre. But, after catching up on about 30 episodes of For Colored Nerds, I see myself in podcasting again. If we could get Another Round back going, it’ll make my year.

I was sooo excited until…
The interview with Wendy Williams. I have to say when your podcast came back, it felt like an answered prayer. My tribe had returned and once again I was seen. Then the Wendy Williams episode popped up. I was expecting objective observations about her life and career but instead I got the co-Presidents of her fan club. Need I remind you that this is THE SAME woman who, as a matter of routine, outed people who had done NOTHING to her. I remind you, because it is useless to remind Wendy, that people being outed can lead to all kinds of terrible things. As someone who was outed I KNOW. But aside from those things, Wendy has built her empire on the misfortunes and human failings of others. Is Wendy an icon? Yes. But our history books are filled with iconic low life scavengers who feast on dead carcasses but they should not be lifted up and admired. Your podcast was the last place I expected that dumpster fire of a person to get such a warm reception. It made me profoundly sad. I really expected more and maybe that is on me. I’m not someone who is star struck or clout chases but it is sooooo very rare that I see people who look like me who see me back. It made me feel warm inside and I’m not the touchy feely type. I will try to move beyond this but I will not lie this is a struggle.

Always a Joy
I am soooooooo happy you guys are back. It’s such a joy of fresh air to hear intelligent kin-folk speak on real topics. I appreciate your thoughts and your conversations. They mimic the conversations I have with friends much more than any other podcast out. Thank you for your honesty, thank you for picking the range of topics, thank you for always doing insightful research… and the list goes on and on.

So glad it’s back…
I have been meaning to update my review for a minute, but life. When I first heard FCN, it was really like having a conversation with some of my close friends. Most of all, I loved how they took pop culture or black culture in general, and dissected it and reconciled their feelings together. To this day one of my favorite vintage episodes is when they reviewed “To Pimp a Butterfly”. While I loved The Nod and was an avid supporter, I missed the candid conversations between these two friends. So, having this format back made me super happy. I’m glad to have the conversations back, and how the topic impacts their life at the moment. Welcome back nerds. Now, if we can get a new review of the latest Kendrick Lamar album, that would probably make my year.

My favorite podcast
I love listening to / watching Brittany & Eric in all iterations. Whenever I’m sad, stressed or lonely, it is so comforting to go back and listen to random episodes of FCN or the Nod and hear the banter & laughter. It’s been so cool to have been listening since 2017 and seen so much growth! You’re both hilarious, brilliant and I hope to one day get into podcasting because of you.
samosa_mimosa
Great!
Re: authenticity/“professional” episode… no vulnerability or authenticity at work until you’re unionized and have employee power. Otherwise they keep demanding your voice but don’t protect your interests, instead exploiting your presence for profit and image management. Representation alone in a corrupt system probably won’t fix anything

Better than ever
I missed “The Nod” and wondered what happened to it. It’s nice to have the mystery solved, but fantastic to have you two back doing what you love. Listening to your show is like talking with two trusted and admired friends who also have specialized expertise. Love the content. You even softened my heart toward Lawrence (a little). If you do a television episode, I would love to hear your take on the “The Wonder Years”, “Our Kind of People” and “Queens.”

Black people are racist too
Overall the podcast is more of an opinionated more then the facts black people could still be racist like white people can.

Smart AND Hilarious
The first episode I listened to was the Get Out episode and I was immediately hooked. So smart and so funny. They pretty much said everything that we're all thinking. I love it.

They like the older brother and sister I never had lol
As a young, black, professional, and recent graduate ‘For Colored Nerds’ is the equivalent of being in one of your favorite classes, enjoying the topic, and your professor (without watching the clock). The podcast is witty, relatable, and comical. The friendship of Brittany and Eric is amazing I love how they feed off each other’s energy. I also enjoy how the duo reflect on their past selves and past experiences. After listening to 2 years of podcasts over the last 2 months I feel like Brittany and Eric are my two older cousins providing guidance as I start adulthood. Lastly, I admire their appreciation for the arts and critical analysis of pop culture, politics, and blackness. I’m so happy I started listening and I highly recommend!

Love You Miss You Moving Forward
Been writing fan mail in my head for more than a year. Ida B! Miss Simone! Stevie! Loved when you shared my enthusiasms and when you turned me on to yours. Loved your smart and fresh takes and how open and kind and tough you were with us. Love your generosity of spirit. And B. is only audio pundit who has any business singing on the air. (Looking at you NPR). Will get excited about The Nod but still mourning FCN. What a time, what a time.
