The Highway Part 2 - REST - Jennifer Lee As we navigate our way on this Highway called life, how do we learn to take REST? How do we learn to operate from rest? This is a challenge for most of us and we learn from Psalm 127:1-2 that says that unless the Lord builds a house, those who build it, labour in vain. It is God who gives rest.

“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?” As we start a new year we need to remember that Jesus demands that His followers not only know the word/scripture but that we also become doers of the word. This requires us to have strong foundations in our faith and theology which in turn will help us produce fruit in all seasons of our lives. The truth is, this is not always possible and we need to ask ourselves how can we practically take steps that will help us on the journey? Join us in our four week series Titled The Highway where we will explore practicals ways that will help us build strong foundations and navigate the challenges we come across on The Highway.

As we find ourselves in the middle of Advent, How are we waiting on God in this season? How are we preparing our hearts and minds for this time of Advent especially in the midst of all this chaos and uncertainty?

Worship is not only about music, instruments and events, it is so much more than that. Worship is a heart posture. On the other hand, Prayer encourages healthy communion with God. How do we embrace these important qualities of our faith and apply them in our day to day life? Acts 12:1-11 and Acts 16:25 offers us possible practical examples/model we can learn from.

God transforms Peter's heart and opens his eyes to the fact the Gospel is for everyone. Peter carried historical baggage that taught him to discriminate against others based on their background, ethnicity or race and God corrects him.

What does it mean for us followers of Christ today to read the book of Acts and apply it to our context? We asking tough questions today that will challenge us and hopefully help us reflect.
