Finding Purpose in Seasons of Waiting
Although waiting isn't fun, God does a lot to develop us before our dreams are fulfilled. It's up to us to recognize that or we can just sit and wait in the hurt and not get all that God wants for us-He wants us to be mature and complete-not lacking anything. The Favored Journey team has been studying "Relationship Goals" by Michael Todd and you can listen for details to sign up for an online discussion on the book or e-mail [email protected].

Are there TOXIC people in my life?
Are there any people in your life where every encounter with them leaves you emotionally exhausted. The backhanded compliments, constantly playing the victim, the confusion creator, the chaos craver, the humble hater…these people seem so sweet on the outside, but on the inside they’re arrogant, manipulative and maybe even narcisstic …where only the people closest to them begin to see the real person underneath and feel the destruction they manufacture. Well, today to kick off this series on Creating Healthy minds…since it IS Mental Health Awareness Month….we’re talking with Licensed Counselor Angie Hernandez-Harris  about TOXIC people…what the traits are, how we need to listen to that internal alarm that says danger when we’re around certain people, and how to respond. She also provides so many great resources in this episode.CONTACT INFO:Angie Hernandez Counseling, LLCEmail: [email protected]: 208-863-6037RESOURCES: Toxic People: 10 Ways of Dealing With People Who Make Your Life Miserable by Dr. Lillian Glass The Highly Sensitive Person's Guide to Dealing with Toxic People: How to Reclaim Your Power from Narcissists and Other Manipulators by Shahida ArabiPower & Abuse Cycle http://www.ncdsv.org/images/PowerControlwheelNOSHADING.pdfThe 5 Love Languages by Gary ChapmanThe Gottman Institute https://www.gottman.com/The Deepest Well: Healing the Long-Term Effects of Childhood Adversity by Dr. Nadine Burke HarrisUnf#ck Your Boundaries: Build Better Relationships Through Consent, Communication, and Expressing Your Needs by Faith Harper, PhDThe Gift of Fear: And Other Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence by Gavin de Becker
