How are you coping with this broken world you live in? How are you doing with the patience thing? James says you must be patient and he tells you why. James 5:7 - 11.

It’s OK to be rich but it’s very dangerous: it’s a serious disadvantage for a Christian. Handle your wealth with care. James 5:1 - 6

You don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Your life is like a vapour. God controls the future. To leave God out of your reckoning is arrogant and evil. James wants you to remember those things when you make plans for the future. James 4:13 - 17

There is no excuse. When your conversation puts other people down, it’s sinful. Stop kidding yourself.

If God dealt with us like we deserve we wouldn’t have a hope. We need grace: we need more grace. The good news James has for us is that God gives more grace.

Everybody has desires: things they want for themselves. What's so bad about that, as long as it is nothing sinful? There's no harm in wanting some nice things is there?Well, James doesn't seem to think so. He calls it adultery.

When you quarrel or argue, don’t say the devil made me do it, don’t say, I was provoked, don’t say somebody else stirred it up. It’s coming from your desires. There’s something you want: that’s what lies behind it.

Are you wise? Well, we’ll see. In the verses we're going to think about in this episode, James will tell you what wisdom should look like. By the time he's finished, you’ll know if you’re wise, or otherwise.

Real faith, is believing what God says in His Word and living like you do. That’s the kind of faith that will save you.

Do you love your neighbour in the same way that you love yourself? That, says James, is the real test. That will reveal whether or not your religion is pure and undefiled: whether or not your Christian profession is real.
