We are halfway through the 2025-2026 Season . The standings are as tight as we have ever seen them. Every team is looking like they have a chance to hold a high spot in their division, but three teams are dominating more than others . Avalanche is on pace to end the season with 140 points if they do. they will beat an NHL record . Dallas and Wild follow behind, leading the league for the past 5 weeks . The three-headed Hydra is the nickname they have earned .A look at the East teams that we thought were going to rise and hold place, such as Toronto , New Jersey, New York Rangers , and Boston. Have been struggling . Although. Detroit , Tampa, and Montreal are flying and holding steady . The group went over the finalized Olympic rosters for Canada and the United States. We also looked at fan-made “Snubbed “ Roasters that had athletes who were not chosen. We talked about how surprising  the Pittsburgh Penguins have been . The Philadelphia Flyers. We close out the podcast talking about the struggles of the st. Louis Blues. As of now, on the date of 1/8/26 They have 42 points and need 46 to get into a wild card scenario.

Then, 72 hours later, accepting an 8 Year 137 million dollar extension. We discussed Mitch Marner and whether he could fit into the roster of the Carolina Hurricanes. We took a look at the additions that Anaheim acquired. Jacob Trouba , Chris Kreider, along with Radko Gudas beginning his second year in California . In addition. After Defeating Vegas and finishing the Dallas Stars in 5 Games . The Edmonton Oilers are heading back to the Stanley Cup final vs the defending champion Florida Panthers. Who have also clawed their way back into the final series. Defeating both Tampa and Toronto and finishing Carolina in 5 Games, they have a chance to keep the cup in Florida . We were blessed to have everyone on this show. We spoke about both teaming depth scoring and Goaltending, key booths that both teams made during the trade deadline, the Oilers adding Jeff Skinner and Trent Frederic, and the Panthers adding Brad Marchand and Seth Jones.
