Episode 25. Learn about the 9 ways of being in the world known as the Enneagram. The remaining episodes will cover all 9 types (one episode for each type) in depth. Please do not take an online Enneagram test (unless you just want to know what numbers to pay extra attention to) because the tests are usually not accurate. Only YOU know what your core motivations are and what your way of seeing the world is. The Enneagram has a long history of being taught in its entirety, and it's important to know all the types to understand your type. You will find with wings and moves later that the numbers are interrelated (it's no wonder the Enneagram shape looks like that).
This is the introductory episode of the series. It is going to be important to refer back to this episode as you listen to the rest of the series.
Whether you already know your number or if this is your first introduction to the Enneagram, I hope you enjoy this first episode and share it with friends and family members! The entire series is going to be just as important to share as listen to yourself. Be sure to share the episode about your number with those close to you so that they can understand you on a deeper level and don't forget to listen to the whole series to learn and understand the other types (since I'm sure someone will come to mind in each episode).
For your reference:
Stances: Aggressive (3, 7, 8), Dependent (1, 2, 6), Withdrawn (4, 5, 9)
Centers of Intelligence (also called Triads): Thinking/Head (5, 6, 7), Feeling/Heart (2, 3, 4), Instinctual/Gut (8, 9, 1)
Core Motivations/Desires: Being right/good (1), Being wanted/loved (2), Being admired/successful (3), Being authentic/special (4), Being self-sufficient/knowledgeable (5), Being safe/supported (6), Being happy/free (7), Being independent/self-governed (8), Being harmonious/untroubled (9).
3 Subtypes for each number: Self-preserving, Sexual, and Social
Wings can be neighboring numbers.
