In those difficult times, David learned to trust the Lord and walk in the power of God. We see David in one of the most desperate times of his life in these verses. In this passage, we are going to see images of divine wrath. Beginning in chapter six all the way through chapter nineteen, we are placed into the time of the “Tribulation Period.” This period of seven years is broken down into two parts, with each portion lasting 3 ½ years. “The Last Days”, are we there now? TEXT:   Titus 3:1-2INTRO: Our text comes from a short epistle written to Paul’s young associate Titus who was tasked with finishing the work of establishing a healthy functioning church on the island of Crete.  As I’ve studied the Cretan culture over the last week, I’ve determined that it shared much with the culture in our own nation today.  Scripture records that one of the Cretan’s own prophets proclaimed, “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, and lazy gluttons.”  It was to this young pastor that Paul authored a letter providing the instruction and the foundational principles to complete the work of establishing the church in Crete.  What does Paul establish as a theme for setting the church on stable ground?  Do good!  In this epistle, we see how to transform a culture.  The Cretan church’s core strategy to change the culture of the nation was to do good in all aspects of life.  It worked for them then, and it will work for us today.

The Bible has a lot to say about plagues, and we can draw counsel from the word of God as to how we should respond to the current situation.
